October 14 - 18, 2019
The Walk-a-Thon is Tomorrow
All students must wear their official Walk-a-Thon t-shirt, which they will receive at school today. Preschool students will get their shirts on Friday morning. Students should bring a water bottle, wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather. If it rains, there is an indoor plan but we will try our best to get the students outside.

It's not too late to turn in pledges!
The pledge deadline has been extended to Friday! Please drop off any last minute donations to the front office and you will still be eligible to earn a Bearcat foam paw, out of uniform passes and much more!

Thank you to all of the students, staff and volunteers who have helped to make this Walk-a-Thon such a success!!
Early Dismissal Tomorrow/No School Monday
Students will dismiss at 11:30 am tomorrow and there will be no afternoon EDS. There will also be no school on Monday, October 14 in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.

Holy Fire
St. Luke's youth are invited to attend Holy Fire Chicago 2019! Thousands of young Catholics will gather together at the UIC Pavilion on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 for the Archdiocese of Chicago’s signature event for sixth through ninth graders. This is a time for attendees to celebrate the gift of their faith as well as reflect on God’s work in their lives. This year, we are blessed to have a diverse lineup of speakers and entertainers which includes Fr. Rob Galea, an internationally-known speaker and musician.

Tickets are $38 per person. Attendees must provide their own lunch and attend with a parish group. Mrs. Zeh is coordinating tickets, transportation, and chaperones for St. Luke. Please contact her with your interest ( email  or call / text 708-771-4317). Deadline is October 15.

For more information on Holy Fire, please visit  holyfirechicago.org , email  holyfire@archchicago.org  or call 312.534.3700.

Receptions, including food, drink and a challenging trivia quiz will be held in the school gym following both morning Masses. We’d love to see you there!
Halloween at St. Luke School
On Halloween, October 31, students are allowed to come to school out of uniform. They may wear black/orange clothing or simple, appropriate Halloween costumes to school. Accessories to costumes will not be allowed; this includes hats, weapons, and wigs. Make-up and face paint are also not allowed. Classrooms will also have a Halloween celebration on the same day. Due to allergies and other health concerns, students should not bring treats to share.
New Middle School Team Member
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Emilie Hansel to our middle school team. Ms. Hansel will be filling in for Mrs. Coduti when she is out on her maternity leave. She began her time with us Monday so that she has some time to transition with Mrs. Coduti, the entire middle school team, and the students. Ms. Hansel has several years of middle school teaching experience in both public and Catholic schools. She holds a BS from Northern Illinois University, as well as a Masters in Urban Education from Governors State. Welcome to St. Luke School, Ms. Hansel!
