Golf Outing Was Smashing Success
After a short, 30 minute rain delay the Pontiac Chamber golf outing was a smashing success.

The day was filled with fun games such as marshmallow golf, sponsored by Pontiac RV, and the fastest hole, sponsored by CIRBN.

The top team of the day from the Elks Lodge won the Superior Award, sponsored by Superior Landscaping. And the top teams shouldn't have all the fun...the worst team of the day won the  Toilet Bowl Award, sponsored by Popejoy.

Thanks to Republic Services for being our beverage sponsors throughout the day. And a special thanks to Caterpillar for being cart sponsor.

The event would not be a success without all of our sponsors, volunteers and donors.

Local Food Movement
Lunch & Learn - Ag Edition
Join us to learn all about the local food movement right here in Livingston County!

Matt Kilgus, Manager for Kilgus Farmstead, will share the story of their family farm and what it takes to produce the food we enjoy. He will also discuss how they market and sell their local products to surrounding area stores and costumers.

Raghela Scavuzzo, Illinois Farm Bureau Local Foods Program Manager, will talk about what local means, trends she is seeing and what markets farmers can sell to.

Murray McLean, County Market Produce manager will talk with us all about the grocery store's process for selecting, buying and working with the farmers. Be sure to bring your questions to this panel of experts!

Friday, June 29 at noon to be held at the Hampton Inn, 2000 Grand Prix Drive. Cost is $10 for chamber members and $15 for non members. The event is free for Farm Bureau members.

Chamber Welcomes Workforce Board Student
The Workforce Board has a program for youth ages 14 to 24 to help them find employment. The chamber has secured a student through this program, Carlie Weaver.

Carlie will be a sophomore at Indiana State University in the fall. She is the daughter of Angie and Matt Weaver from Pontiac.

She will be working at the chamber over the summer and helping with administrative duties, the website and social media. We are so excited to have her on board for the  next few months.
