Darkest Night of Your Life

Strides Against Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer is the 7th-most common cancer in the U.S. and the 3rd-most common cancer in men. This is a non-timed walk and you can walk as far as 5K or as little as one step and we encourage you to join our community for this important event.
All proceeds will benefit bladder cancer research and education at The Institute for Prostate and Urologic Cancers at the University of Minnesota.

Dash It For Baskets 5K

Dash-it for Baskets is a 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk that benefits Open Baskets, a not-for-profit that helps fill the hearts, minds, and souls of our neighbors who live with a mental illness.

All donations receive a registration to the race/walk -- every $25 funds one gift basket! (Suggested donation: $25 per adult, $10 per child.) Our goal for this year is to raise $17,500.

Autism 5K

The 10th Annual Autism 5K takes place at beautiful Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis on May 19, 2018 at 9am. This event is great for the serious runner, casual jogger or walker as it is a certified 5K course. All runners and walkers receive a t-shirt, which is a one of a kind creation created by Adam Turman. We also offer awards for the top finishers in both female and male age categories. 
The Autism 5K is a fundraiser for C.A.D.E., Children with Autism Deserve Education (501c3). C.A.D.E. provides support to local MN children and families affected by autism by providing medical, therapy and technology grants, as well as funding research. 
See It Forward 5K Run/Walk & Kids Run

The race is a USA Track and Field Sanctioned Event. You can choose from a 5k walk, 5k run, 10k run and there is also a kids fun run. It will be held on Saturday, May 19th, 2018. It's a family friendly event with a live band, beautiful course with rolling hills and a large playground near the pavilion. Race participants will get a t-shirt, virtual race bag, and post race food.
Brave Like Gabe

Local pro runner and rare cancer survivor Gabriele Grunewald is planning the inaugural Local pro runner and rare cancer survivor Gabriele Grunewald is planning the inaugural Brave Like Gabe 5K to benefit the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation (ACCRF). The objective of the race is to fund a research grant while raising awareness for rare cancers. There is currently no cure or FDA-approved treatment for patients with ACC. Last year there were 1224 new ACC diagnoses. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund a research grant through 1224 total race sign-ups, in-person and virtual! 100% of registration fees will fund the research grant.

Listening House is a day shelter on the East Side of St. Paul that provides hospitality, practical assistance, & counsel to people who are homeless, disadvantaged, or lonely.  Proceeds from the Next Steps 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run go to helping guests of Listening House work toward a healthier lifestyle and take those NEXT STEPS to get back on their feet. 
30 For Freedom

30 for Freedom is a movement that exists to end sex trafficking in our lifetime.
It all started with a dream to run 30 miles on my 30th birthday, to invite 30 friends to do it with me, so we could raise $30k to rescue victims out of sex trafficking because every 30 seconds somebody becomes a victim of human trafficking. The first year we had 48 runners do the full 30 miler and 75 run a shorter version at the 5k distance. $81,346 was raised!

Paavo Nurmi Marathon

In August of 1969, Dr. Thomas Rosandich who ran an intensive training camp in the north wood of Iron County Wisconsin, gathered 70 of his athletes and charted a course that took them 26 miles, 385 yards north of Hurley. The beginning of the Paavo has brought us to 50 years later and the being the "Longest Running Marathon in Wisconsin"

Reebok Ragnar Relay Michigan, happening on Sept. 28-29, 2018, is a magical combination of fall colors, sugar sand beaches, massive dunes and wild Ragnarians.
This 200-ish mile overnight adventure kicks off in the charming town Muskegon. From there, teams run two days and one star-filled night, past historic ships and lighthouses, apple orchards, cherry blossoms and rolling hills painted in vibrant autumn hues.

MDRA FALL PROGRAM
Information Session
June 19, 2018

• 15 week program geared for Twin Cities Marathon
• 12 week program geared for City of Lakes Half Marathon Training: Certified coaches collaborate on a training plan with four distinct training groups so you can train at the level right for your fitness and lifestyle. It is recommended that marathon runners have a base of at least 20-25 and half marathon runners have 10-15 miles a week before entering the class. Group runs are Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Half and Full Training Programs run in conjunction with each other. Location: Group runs meet at a variety of locations across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, primarily focused on the TCM course. First Run: June 23. Online registration and details at runmdra.org
