June Newsletter

Message to Exhibitors from the Orleton Driving Show Committee

In these uncertain times of the Covid19 virus, Colonial Carriage & Orleton Farm want you to know the safety and health of our exhibitors and volunteers is our upmost concern. We are in a wait-and-see position as to when things will get back to normal. Normal would be when restaurants open and people get back to work.

If you have not received the prize list in the mail, please visit colonialcarriage.org to review the class listings and entry form. Entries should be sent no earlier than June 7. At that point, we will be able to make a decision about holding the show.

Entries will close July 15. This allows show management to organize the class entries and make all arrangements to run the show.

If the show is cancelled before July 15, all entry fees and stall fees will be returned.

Colonial Carriage and Driving Society is aware of the responsibility they have in keeping the history and tradition of carriage driving going forward. The show is an opportunity to exhibit your prideful horse and carriage turnout and have fun along the way. We will make every effort to make this year's show the best ever.

In the meantime, we hope you all stay healthy and safe.
Virtual Lexington Carriage Classic Show

This show is patterned after the highly successful and viewed Virtual Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The class list has 30 classes! There is something for everyone - even sleighs!!!
There are all the usual classes but new ones are included too - Donkeys & Mules, Trade Turnouts, Funny Driving Photos, and Christmas Decorated Turnouts!

Just think - you can enter a great show for $5 a class and you don't have to haul your animal, pay stabling fees, get health certificates and Coggins, no hotel and meal expenses!!!! Folks...this is a real deal! All you need is to complete the entry form to enter and include a photo. You can enter online or print it and mail. You can use the same photo in multiple classes. It's as easy as that!

Ribbons will be awarded and mailed after the judging from June 18th - 20th. The judge is Steve Holm, a veteran driving and coaching judge. Each class will be judged on overall impression.

All the information you need to enter this show is set forth on their website:
lexingtoncarriageclassic.com Entries close June 16.
UPDATE FROM ADS ON PONY MEASURING

We recognize that life has changed and that many of the “measuring parties” planned by competitions and local clubs and other groups have had to be cancelled. Accordingly the ADS will be extending the timeframe for implementing the requirement to have a card before competing to January 1, 2021.
