has bursaries available for adult as well as kid's courses.
 
We have a great selection of courses for kids from 4 to 10 years of age. They can attend for 1/2 days or full days, Monday to Friday and supervision is available at lunch.
There are also full day, Monday to Friday options for youth & teens. Youth classes are for 10 to 13 years of age and youth/teen courses are for 10 to 18 years of age. The majority of options are combined youth/teen with most students at the lower to mid range of the age scale.

Maker Space Explorations
Course Code: ARTS2261
Technology broadens the scope of creative possibility and inspires unique explorations. This course will familiarize you with the equipment in Haliburton School of Art + Design's Maker Space - a PLA plastic 3D printer, a resin 3D printer, scanners, laser engraver, vinyl cutter, industrial sewing machine, digital embroidery machine, large-scale photo printer, printing press, and an assortment of photography/videography equipment. Each day will be spent immersed in a new technology, software, and process. Explore, experiment, and create using a variety of mediums and techniques including printmaking, 3D construction, stencil making, jewellery, and mould making. Skills learned could be applied to artistic pursuits, everyday life, or a career.

What does the Arts Council do on members' behalf?
- Compiles information for members about funding, resources, competitions, requests for proposals for artists and arts organizations and businesses.
- Acts a voice for arts, culture and heritage in Haliburton County. The Arts Council has representation on the Haliburton County Tourism Coalition and is involved in provincial and national arts organizations.
- Provides an information service to the public about the services, skills and products provided by members of the Arts Council. The Arts Council responds to requests for information by the public received by phone, mail or e-mail.
- Facilitates business-to-business connections among Arts Council members
- Collaborates with other organizations to promote the arts, culture and heritage.
If you are interested in donating to the Artists in the Schools program, donors receive a charitable tax receipt. Cheques can be made out to the Friends of the Arts in Haliburton Highlands and mailed to PO Box 931, Haliburton ON K0M 1S0. Alternatively, you may donate via PayPal.
