Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
News about COVID-19 continues to develop very quickly. We understand it can be stressful and a lot to take in at once, so we've created some tools that will hopefully help with all the chaos. Visit Lakeway-tx.gov - at the top of the screen you will see the alerts, which includes the emergency regulations now in place within the City limiting groups to no more than 10, restricting restaurants to drive-through or pick-up options and encouraging physical distancing. Additionally, the Governor passed further actions yesterday as part of a Public Health Disaster declaration closing schools, bars, the dine-in portion of restaurants and gyms until the beginning of April. Yesterday (March 19), the Mayor gave a live update on Facebook to help break down all this information. You can watch it on our Facebook channel at facebook.com/cityoflakeway. It's also viewable from our website. Additionally, on our website we now have a resource center, just below the main buttons. There you will find COVID-19 UPDATES and COVID-19 RESOURCES. The resources include helpful city contacts, child care options, business tools, resident tips and several other helpful links that will help navigate some of the developments. We will of course continue to update our website as we receive information. If you think of anything that may be helpful to you that we may be missing, email us at info@lakeway-tx.gov. Reach out with any questions and we will try to guide you in the right direction. If you have specific COVID-19 concerns or questions, especially if you're worried you may be sick, the State of Texas encourages residents to call 2-1-1. Stay safe; Stay healthy; and continue to wash your hands regularly and practice physical distancing.
City Facilities Closed to Walk-Ins
In response to precautions put in place to protect our residents and staff, city facilities and offices will be closed to the public until further notice. This includes City Hall, Solid Waste, Permits & Inspections, Municipal Court, Public Works, Heritage Center, Swim Center, Activity Center and the Lakeway Police Department lobby. However, these departments WILL still be answering calls, emails and working electronically. Click here for a full list of helpful contact numbers with the City. You can also email us at info@lakeway-tx.gov and your request will be forwarded to the appropriate department. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Blood Drive Is On For This Saturday
Despite many recent event cancellations, The Lakeway Community Blood Drive will continue this coming Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Activity Center. The need for blood is at a critical level, and organizers have plans in place to protect the public with additional sanitation methods and extra measures in place to encourage physical distancing. This event is restricted to those with appointments only. While appointments have already filled up, you can be added to a wait list by emailing: LakewayCommunityBloodDrive@gmail.com. You can also call with questions at (512) 261-1010. As for all blood donations, you should stay home if you have symptoms of a cold, flu or other communicable diseases.
NEW: COVID-19 Community and Business Resources

We understand these are difficult times and many of our residents and businesses may be impacted by the recent regulations put in place to protect the public. For businesses, the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce has worked to help develop a special Facebook support page called " Support Local Business ," which is a place the Lake Travis area businesses can go to post specials, discounts and job postings for the community to access. Additionally, Lake Travis One is a website created by our local churches, encouraging ways to support your neighbors with any needs during this time. Click here for additional resources and information.
NEW: Keep Your Eyes Peeled for Snakes in Area Parks

As we encourage physical distancing during this time, many of our residents are taking the opportunity to hang out at our beautiful parks. While there are airborne concerns to consider, you should also be aware of the physical ones. With spring comes more of our wildlife making an appearance, including snakes. The snake pictured above was spotted just this week in the Hamilton Greenbelt by one of our park-goers, and while not all of them our venomous, some can be dangerous. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled while on the trails and in the parks for our slithery friends. Keep your eyes on the ground and keep your distance if you do spot one.
