Career Day 2019: Alumnae return to tell their stories

Students learned about careers ranging from law to medicine to entrepreneurship at this year's Career Day on May 23. Presenters included:  Leila Pena '10,  Laura Shanley,  Farzana Ahmed '04,  Raquel Johnson ' 15,  Lilybeth Delgado '14,  Nicolette Cibelli '14,  AnnMarie Delli Pizzi Citardi, Ph.D '86,  Kathy Casey-Paulsen '78,  Jennifer Correale, Esq. First honors student athletes

Eight championships this school year

This year eight St. Catharine Academy teams brought home championships. The Junior Varsity Volleyball team claimed the Archdiocesan regular season and playoff championships. In cheer, the Junior Varsity placed fifth in the Nation and the Varsity finished sixth in the Nation in the highly competitive Small Varsity division. The Varsity Cheerleaders returned to New York to successfully defend their New York State Catholic High School Championship. The Junior Varsity Basketball team also captured both the Archdiocesan regular season and playoff championships. The Junior Varsity captured the Archdiocesan Championship and finished second in the City Championships. Not to be outdone, the Varsity softball team defended their Archdiocesan Championship and went on to win the City Championship in an exciting game.

SCA students honored for Water Sustainability APP 

The St. Catharine Academy National Beta Club's APP team created a water sustainabilty APP which was recognized as part of t
he New York City Department of Environmental Protection Water Resource, Art and Poetry Contest. Combining science and coding, the APP team developed an APP which measures daily water intake. The APP suggests ways to conserve water, how to recycle water and includes a step-by-step process for filtering contaminated water to make it suitable for bathing and drinking.

SCA Softball takes championship again
 
Both the JV and Varsity teams won the Archdiocesan Championship. The Varsity also won the City Championship! The whole season the team has shown their power with their bats.
Family Association


Ice Cream Social welcomes new families to SCA
 
Families welcomed new families to St. Catharine Academy in a sweet way with an ice cream social. The newly established Family Association has helped run a number of events this year, including Ties and Tiaras and the Mother Daugher Luncheon.
Circle the Calendar


Rising 7th and 8th grade girls: Explore robotics, art, dance, coding and get a jump start on Math and English concepts for high school, all in one program at St. Catharine Academy this summer. Make new friends in a program which balances creative classroom teaching with social activities, athletics, and new STEAM opportunities in a safe environment from July 1 - July 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m
