Planning Your Funeral in Advance
(For the Sake of Those Who Remain
)
One of the things we kept hearing from commentators during John McCain's funeral was that he had planned everything for the service prior to his death. Come join Christopher, Nadia, Rod, and Richard Clemmitt as we present the things you will need to plan your own funeral and answer your questions. We will provide you with enough to make those decisions after these two sessions.
Church School This Sunday
We have class this Sunday following the service, for all ages! Our morning concludes at 11:30.

Christ Church Creative Dance
Why should your kids have all the fun? Here's YOUR chance to dance!
Come join us for a fun, non-competitive dance class right here at Christ Church. While
your kids are at choir or sports or some other activity, you can get your groove on with other adults in the community. Class will be held on Mondays, 4:45-5:45, Oct. 8-Nov. 26.
Our instructor is Christ Church parishioner and professional dance teacher Amanda MacDonald. Amanda teaches using Brain-Compatible Lesson Planning developed by a renowned dance educator (and New Trier graduate.) Each class includes a warm up, mini-combinations, improvisational exercises, and time for reflection. We'll include pop songs from the '60s, '70s, and '80s as well as contemporary hits and Broadway. You'll also get tips for healthy alignment and well-being. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to stretch and bring a towel to sit on.
We are ALL dancers - no experience required! Open to the community, so bring a friend!

Friendly Officers at Christ Church
From time to time, you may see a Winnetka Police officer sitting quietly at the back of our church, or walking around the building. That's because the police in our area are partnering with local schools and houses of worship so that they can become familiar with the buildings and meet some of the people, in order to be a visible, approachable and supportive presence in the community. We are grateful to them! Feel free to stop and say hello.

Prayers Needed for Our Companion Diocese of South Sudan
Within the past week, two tragedies occurred in the South Sudan. Late last week, the Church of South Sudan's national youth leader, Joseph Kiri was gunned down while traveling in a vehicle on behalf of another church humanitarian organization Across. Click here for details.
The other tragedy, a plane crash into a lake near Yirol, where the plane was trying claimed the life of Bishop Simon Adut Yuang, of the diocese of Yirol. He had only been bishop for 2 years. 20 passengers were killed in the crash, including Red Cross personnel. Click
here for details:
As we think of the church in that troubled country, let us raise our prayers for these brave leaders that there will be more to take their place and that their loved ones find comfort.
