Alum Spring Playground Fundraiser
Fundraising efforts are underway to help expand the Alum Spring Park Playground replacement equipment to include ADA access. Anyone who donates any gift amount to the Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation's Director's Fund before October 15, 2019 will activate an equal gift to the fund! Special Events
Big Fall Cleanup & Trash Dash
This Saturday, October 12
9:00am – 11:00am
Meet at Old Mill Park where volunteers can sign up to clean Alum Spring Park, Old Mill Park, Motts Run Reservoir, Memorial Park, or participate in the “Trash Dash” along the Canal / Heritage Trail and the VCR trail. Halloween Movie Night

5:00pm at Hurkamp Park
Beginning at 5 p.m. is a family-friendly Halloween craft and costume contest. At 7 p.m. it’s movie time! The movies will be "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" followed by "Scared Shrekless." Halloween Skate Night
Thursday, October 31
6:00pm - 9:00pm at Fredericksburg Roller Hockey Rink in Dixon Park
$5 per person after Oct. 24 and at the gate.
Ages: 12 – 16 year olds (for those who typically will not be trick or treating) Bring your own skates if you wish to skate. We'll have some interactive fun for those wearing tennis shoes too! Memorial Urban Trail Ride
Saturday, November 9 at 9:00am - Noon
$20 per horse and rider by November 1st. 
$25 per horse and rider after Nov. 1st and on-site.

New York City in the Fall Day Trip, NY

Fee: $80 per person
Explore NYC on your own, spending your time the way you want. We will arrive in NYC about 10am and leave to come home about 7:30pm. This will give you plenty of time to see what the Big Apple offers. Times are approximate and may vary slightly due to weather, road conditions, traffic, etc. We’ll meet the bus at the Dorothy Hart Community Center. Pre-registration is required. Trip goers will have a day to explore on their own. Spend your time the way you want, whether it’s shopping and shows, or visiting attractions. Youth Sports
2020 Youth Basketball registration will be accepted by paper form only  (which will be accepted in person, by mail or by fax) as we transition to our new registration system. No online registration will be accepted for the Winter 2020 Basketball season.

Lil’ Hoopsters Basketball
5yrs – 6yrs
The FUNdamental coed 5-week program that teaches basic skills of the game including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and sportsmanship. Deadline to register is January 3rd. $10 late registration fee after January 3rd. Location: Walker Grant Middle School. Season: January 11th – February 8th. Learn the basic fundamentals in this coed league designed for fun, sportsmanship and teamwork. Practices start January 6th and will take place at Walker Grant Middle School. Practices are on either Mondays & Wednesdays, or Tuesdays & Thursdays. Games are during the week and on Saturdays. Deadline to register is December 3rd.
