Gibbs' Ribbon Cutting Draws Standing-Room Only Crowd

Over 150 people, including OU President Jim Gallogly, gathered last Friday to welcome Chris and Ania Gibbs, along with their family and friends. During the ceremony, President Gallogly presented Chris Gibbs with a Seed Sower statue in honor of his membership of OU's Seed Sower Society, an organization whose members have each donated $1 million or more. After the Seed Sower presentation, Chris Gibbs surprised President Gallogly by presenting a check for $1 million of his pledged contribution. Then, Chris and Ania Gibbs, alongside President Gallogly, Dean Hans E. Butzer, family and students, cut a ribbon in recognition of the naming of the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture. The ribbon cutting was followed by a toast to Chris and Ania Gibbs and the future of the college, offered by Dean Hans E. Butzer.
