Borderplex Alliance Awarded by Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC)

SAN ANTONIO - The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) recently presented the Borderplex Alliance with its 2019 Community Economic Development Award for Community Commitment and Leverage.

The TEDC selected the Borderplex Alliance for their successful collaboration with local, state, and regional government and private organizations to streamline the expansion and hiring of 1,400 employees by a new company to the Borderplex region.

Jon Barela, CEO, the Borderplex Alliance, said, "We're grateful to the TEDC for this award. Company expansions and the hiring of over 1,000 people aren't possible without the close cooperation of our many partners. Together, we are making our region the most business-friendly and economic competitive place to do business in North America."

The Borderplex Alliance provides regional, national, and international development, advocacy, representation, and support to businesses looking to expand their operations within the Borderplex region. The organization also serves as an advocate for the region in state and national capitals, promoting the economic prosperity of the region and the strength of the U.S.-Mexico relationship.
