Vellore Village Library Grand Opening
Join us for the Grand Opening of Vellore Village Library at 1 Villa Royale Avenue on Saturday September 22.  This library is nature-inspired with an abundance of natural light across 8,300 square feet of space with an  interactive children's area, individual study areas and collaboration spaces. Additional features include a marketplace featuring new and popular items, plus state-of-the-art technologies including iPad & Notebook Kiosk, Self Checkout and automated Book Return. Ceremony and Ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.
Official Opening of the Pierre Berton Heritage Centre
The Pierre Berton Heritage Centre, located at 10418 Islington Avenue, offers visitors an engaging, interactive experience of our national story, driven and inspired by the work of one of Canada's preeminent authors and media pioneers.  Join us for the ceremony and light refreshments on Saturday September 22 at 11:00a.m. RSVP required

Official Opening for the North Maple Regional Park - Phase 1
North Maple Regional Park is a new 200 acre park featuring two soccer fields, 5 km of walking trails and multi-season recreational opportunities. Join us on Saturday September 22 for the ceremony and ribbon cutting at 1:00 p.m. Bring along your chairs and picnic blankets to watch fun soccer matches or explore the park through guided nature walks until 3 p.m. RSVP required

Student Volunteers Needed for Election Day
There's still time for high school students to volunteer to work on Election Day. As Customer Service Ambassadors, students will help voters navigate through voting locations and earn volunteer hours while being an important part of the democratic process. Apply online at vaughan.ca/elections by September 14.
City of Vaughan Road Improvements
Pavement rehabilitation continues until November.
Road closure continues on Pine Valley Drive.

GO Service Adjustments - Barrie Corridor
Work to the GO Barrie Corridor will occur on October 13 - 14. During this weekend
trains will run between Union Station and Rutherford GO. Buses will replace trains north of Rutherford GO to accommodate work on bridges, level crossing and platforms.
York Region Road Improvements
York Region is making improvements to various roads in the City of Vaughan.
Keele Street, from Major Mackenzie Drive to Teston Road. Completion is anticipated in October.
New traffic control signals at the intersection of Highway 27 and King Vaughan Road. Completion is anticipated by the end of October.
