St Joseph High School - A Catholic College Preparatory Community
|
|
Dear Friends,
Happy Monday morning. I sincerely hope that you had some time to relax and recharge over the cold and blustery winter weekend. The second semester is now officially underway; student motivation and focus is evident, despite the lingering challenges presented by COVID-19 safety restrictions. That said, the laughter, friendship, and resiliency on display each day at St. Joes is truly inspiring. Given the location of my office in the main hallway, I have a front row seat to the goodness of our students – your children. They are exceptional young women and men, and I am extremely proud of them every day. As a school community, we must continue to rely on our strong Catholic faith to unite us and give us hope, especially during this challenging time. We are St. Joes – Stronger Together!
I am pleased to report the winter athletic season has officially begun! Our basketball, hockey, bowling, gymnastics, boys swimming, and indoor track teams will continue practice sessions this week as they eagerly prepare for league competition to begin on or about February 8, 2021. Mr. Butler and Ms. Nasser will also host a Virtual Winter Sports Meeting for parents and student-athletes on Tuesday evening, February 2nd.
This week’s busy school schedule clearly demonstrates our commitment to persevere by intentionally “leaning in” to COVID-19 by delivering traditional events and community activities such as Pizza and Prayer, a Virtual Escape Room Event for Upperclassmen, Virtual Fine Arts Showcase, and a Virtual Drama Club Production of Almost, Maine. Each of the aforementioned activities are planned for this week (January 25-30) and additional information is provided below. I commend our SJ faculty and staff for their dedication and “Can Do” attitude and look forward to engaging our school community in celebratory and social opportunities in weeks to come.
As always, you and your family members remain in my daily thoughts and prayers. We appreciate your continued support and good will. May you have a productive and joyous week ahead.
In Faith and Fellowship,
David J. Klein
President

An Update on Contact Tracing
|
With the decision to go from a 14-day to a 10-day quarantine, the Town of Trumbull has begun an online “symptom check-in” for those individuals who have be identified as direct contacts with a Covid positive case.
If your student is identified as a direct contact, an email may be sent daily at 5am from the Trumbull Nursing Department (sent from “Room at Veoci.com”) asking for a daily check-in to be done via a link in the email.
The information will then be processed by a contact tracer for the Town of Trumbull. Those individuals who remain symptom-free over the course of 10 days will be allowed to return to school.
