Dear PetConnect Rescue Family,
Progress made! A couple of years ago, our cat adoption numbers were trending in the wrong direction. According to the Best Friends Animal Society, community cats are an area in rescue (along with large breed dogs), that still needs attention and help. We recognized our own problem and went looking for a solution.
Our PCR Cat Team rallied! A few people from the dog side shifted over to the cat side, more adoption events were scheduled, and an active cat team from Purcellville, VA, joined forces with PetConnect Rescue. A few more hands to help the situation was truly needed. Here are the data to show the positive change and outstanding growth:

Ronnie Hadorn Canine Cottage
Dedication Event
|
|
|
|
|
Despite a deluge of rain, the PetConnect Rescue Board of Directors, staff and dedicated volunteers gathered on Saturday, July 21, to celebrate the official dedication of the Ronnie Hadorn Canine Cottage for Seniors and the Akin Caregivers Garden.
Honoree Michael Akin, who facilitated a large bequest from the estate of the late Veronica "Ronnie" Hadorn, was presented with a handmade bench to be placed outside of the newly renovated canine cottage as well as a plaque, which will soon adorn the cottage.
Special thanks to Diane Wood, Carole Dell, Lizette Chanock, and Wendy Grubbs for working so hard to get the Senior Dog Program up and running.
Many thanks to Michael, Wendi, and Miles Akin for continuing to support PetConnect Rescue's efforts to help our senior dogs find loving homes. We're so grateful for this special friendship and can't wait to watch Miles grow up to be an animal rescuer as well.

Meow, I'm Fred.
I'm a 3-month-old orange tabby. PetConnect Rescue saved me and my two siblings (Felicia and Frank) from a shelter down south. Sometimes it takes
me a little bit to warm up but
trust me, it's worth the wait.
I love playing with my new toys, and I really love my foster cat sister. She's been showing me the ropes. I'm hoping to be adopted by someone who has a cat already because I love to play!
Please, will you adopt me?
