PTSA Membership Meeting
On behalf of the Tesla STEM PTSA board we would like to thank all the parents and guest speakers – Cindy Duenas, Cynthia Burt and Ari Howard – for a terrific first PTSA membership meeting of the 2019-2020 school year. We had a great turn out and learned many things about our STEM school and SAT/ACT test preparation. Our next membership meeting will be Wednesday, January 8 th , 2020. Save the date.
Parent Social
Wow! A big THANK YOU to all the parents that joined us for pizza on Thursday night at BJ’s in Redmond. We had a full house and a great time meeting the wonderful parents of our STEM students. Hopefully everyone made some great connections, carpool options and we learned that we share common ties in how our families are handling the Tesla STEM school experience. Thank you Shital Shende and Supriya Natu for making it all happen.

Student Opportunity - Join us on an Educational Tour to Panama!
This is NOT a PTSA sponsored event.

Is your child interested in an interdisciplinary, educational tour in Central America this summer?

Join Spanish teacher Katy Allen-Schmid to learn more about the student STEM trip that she's leading with Education First Tours to Panama! From working alongside practicing scientists on a wetland conservation project to visiting a local research station on the Caribbean coast, students will learn about how the incredible engineering feat of the Panama Canal impacted the surrounding ecosystems of this Central American oasis.
Here’s what will be covered during the meeting:

● Where and when we’re going
● What we’ll see and do
● Travel logistics
● How your child can earn academic credit
● Flexible payment options that keep the trip affordable

Ms. Allen-Schmid will also share details about how to sign up (space is limited!) and answer any questions you might have. Can’t wait to see you there!

Please note: This is a private, EF tour; this is not sponsored or supported by the school or PTSA.
T issue donations needed!
Please consider donating tissues to Tesla STEM. They can be dropped off at the main office. Thank you!
Traffic, Parking, Pedestrians, and Animals
Thank you to our parent and student drivers for your patience as we educate everyone about traffic flow and parking on our school site. We appreciate your cooperation as we get traffic to slow down and as we remind our pedestrians of all ages to watch for cars before crossing the pavement. We have two new Student Resource Officers (SRO) this year assisting us with not only traffic and the parking lot but also with all safety and security at Tesla. You will see their police cars parked in areas that we are monitoring for unsafe driving and/or unsafe walking to cars. Please welcome SRO Officer Sapp and Officer Herron to Tesla.
