Dead Horses
The Pan Handles
Wisconsin-based rootsy indie-folk band  Dead Horses  returns to Boise for  Alive After Five! Folks who follow Americana music remember Dead Horses were first introduced to Idaho by way of Elephant Revival, who invited the band to open their Petals album release tour back in 2017. Dead Horses are breaking free from the common acoustic denominator and cultivating their own diverse audience, owing much to Dead Horses' strong female lead, Sarah Vos. Dead Horses released their nationally-acclaimed album My Mother the Moon in 2018. Look for the band to open for legendary UK rockers THE WHO, who selected Dead Horses to join their "Moving On!" tour this fall.

Alive After Five welcomes back Boise-based artists, The Pan Handles . Gypsy, folk, blues and bluegrass are some of what you'll hear from these seasoned musicians who bring both original compositions as well as unique interpretations from some of their favorite artists. The Pan Handles have performed together at Treefort Music Fest, Sawtooth Valley Gathering and they've shared stages with Jay Cobb Anderson Band, Jeff Crosby and the Refugees, The Young Dubliners, Shook Twins, members of Yonder Mountain String Band and Old Crow Medicine Show.

Mississippi Marshall and The Juke Daddys
Noah Kadre Experience (NKE)
This is the much anticipated and requested return of Mississippi Marshall and The Juke Daddys to Alive After Five! Mississippi Marshall and The Juke Daddys deliver an exciting, raw Blues based sound rooted in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Mississippi Marshall, born and raised in the Delta, has been performing since the age of 11. His original music is influenced by many of the Delta legends and it shows in his unique guitar stylings Boiseans love. Mississippi has released three CDs and is working on a fourth. The stories of good and bad life experiences are told in his songwriting accompanied by arrangements that embellish the stories. Mississippi Marshall is a two-time semifinalist in the International Blues Challenge, a Mississippi Music Foundation award winner for Best Instumental, and Grammy Museum award winner for Originality.

Noah Kadre Experience, or NKE is an American Rock Band from right here in Boise. NKE is built from a mix of Funk, Reggae, Rock, Country and the Blues. NKE has shared this intense fusion and unique songwriting with audiences around the world who love the Idaho-born sound. Robere Kazadi lays down a thumping bass line to his lyrics while Noah Kadre takes lead guitar playing to a new level. Tom Kicmol delivers the perfect drum beat for every genre. Their live performances take you on a musical odyssey!

Wednesday, August 21 – Welcome Military Families!
The Navy Band Northwest Funk Band
Edmond Dantes
Boise Rock School
Alive After Five proudly welcomes local military families to enjoy the sounds of the Navy Band Northwest Funk Band ! The Navy Band performs throughout the Pacific Northwest for public concerts and educational outreach. The Funk Band is comprised of two trumpets, two trombones, saxophone, bass, and drums. The group’s versatility shines with a diverse repertoire of high energy music including jazz, New Orleans standards, funk, and an assortment of popular cover songs arranged for this energetic instrumentation. The group consists of talented Navy musicians, providing a high impact performance for audiences of all ages and walks of life. Don’t miss them!

Edmond Dantes – AA5 welcomes back Edmond Dantes who, in addition to being one of the greatest characters in literary history – is a music project started by Andrew Stensaas (LED) and Ryan Peck (Boise Rock School). Edmond Dantes has released two EPs: Etta and Juno and one full-length: 6:13-Soundtrack to Almosting It. Edmond Dantes was featured as the entire soundtrack of the motion picture Almosting It - a movie featuring Lee Majors (The Fall Guy, Six Million Dollar Man), Terry Keiser (Weekend at Bernies) and Jane Merrow (The Lion in Winter). The focus is melody, hooks and, hopefully, hitting that intangible pleasure center that exists in the realm of pop. Throw some old Motown, some eighties synth pop and a few dashes of Blue Eyed Soul in a bowl and you'll have a good approximation of Edmond Dantes' sonic cookies.

These kids rock! For the second time, Boise Rock School students will take the stage of Alive After Five. Since its inception in 2008, Boise Rock School has been led by the belief that the best way to get individuals excited about playing music is to have them play songs they love with a group (aka a band!). The band experience helps students achieve musical excellence more quickly, and encourages essential life skills like group problem solving, the importance of compromise and the value of positive social interactions. Boise Rock School is a place where students young and old become more impassioned, inventive, resilient and inspired! AA5 is proud to support Boise Rock School!
