The instrument of leadership is the self, and mastery of the art of leadership comes only from mastery of the self (Kouzes and Posner, The Leadership Challenge). Hence, leadership development relies on our ability to cultivate and nurture our personal wellness in order to better prepare us to manage the natural imbalances of personal and professional life.
