Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media
by Jaron Lanier
"For those disillusioned with the frenzy that is modern social media, this book is not to be missed. You may not actually delete all of your social media accounts, but you will walk away more mindful of how these technologies are using and abusing you." - Destenie

Monster Mayhem
by Chris Eliopoulos (out 8/28)
"Zoe invents robots, but other kids give her a little trouble, so she figures she's best on her own - until she finds a ring that responds to a wish she didn't know she had, and then come the monsters. Beautiful story of learning to belong and accepting love from the oddest places." - Linda

Ghost Boys
by Jewell Parker Rhodes
"Beautiful, sad story of Jerome, a twelve-year old boy killed by a policeman. When he dies, the ghost of Emmett Till comes to him, and Jerome learns that other ghost boys remain bound to the earth. Perfectly tuned for middle-grade readers who must know the facts to pursue change." - Linda
In Conversation with Robin Benway, Isabel Quintero
Friday, August 17 at 6 pm

Isabel Quintero (Gabi, a Girl in Pieces) is returning to Cellar Door, now in conversation with Robin Benway, author of Far From the Tree, a National Book Award winner and staff pick.

Far From the Tree is a beautiful exploration of what it means to be family, told from the perspective of three teens who find each
other and seek the story of the woman who gave them up. In Gabi, a Girl in Pieces, Gabi Hernandez chronicles her last year in high school in her diary - the mundane, the difficult, and best of all, the poetry that helps forge her identity.
