Semaphore's Hidden Histories revealed
All August, as part of the SALA Festival, Semaphore will play host to Semaphore's Hidden Histories,
a City of Port Adelaide Enfield Placemaking Project.
Artist Rachel Harris (Bit Scribbly) has developed a glorious trail of paste-up photographs from City of PAE Libraries' Local History Collection, the Port Adelaide Historical Society and local residents, revealing images from our past. What will you see? #Semaphore

The latest on Parks Library
It's been a very busy building site and at any one time we've had up to
47 tradies
installing everything from cabling and ducting to glazing, solar panels and plasterboard. We now have power and the project is getting very close to 'lock up' stage, when improvement works to Yerta Walk and Park Street intersection will commence.
We are also working on the programs and events and are now calling for creative types and tech whizzes to volunteer in our Makerspace. Find out more here.
Parks Library will open to the community late October.

A big thank you
Our Paddington Bear-themed school holiday program was a whopping success with more than 500 attendees over the two weeks. Our big and little attendees enjoyed magic shows, movie screenings, learnt to dance, code with Scratch and went out in the woods today for a teddy bear's picnic.
We're already preparing for September's STEAM- themed school holiday program. If you have any feedback or great ideas for us to consider for future programs contact us.

Staff Profile -
Tim
What is your role within
City of PAE Libraries?
I am the Technical Services Technician and I look after the team that prepares all the books, movies and other items that are for offered for loan across the Libraries. I have a team of 6 people who I work closely with to make sure all the items are looking sharp and available for customers as soon as possible. I have been in this role for about 8 weeks and I have learnt so much! We are in action mode right now getting all the new items ready for the opening of the Parks Library later on this year.
What's the best thing about your job?
If you ask me normally, I would say the best thing about my job is the awesome people I work with. But... if I am being honest, it is seeing all the new books before anyone else!
What's your favourite book?
My favourite book of all time is "The Name of the Wind"
by Patrick Rothfuss. It is an awesome adventure story
written by an author with an incredible way with the words
and filled with action, romance, music, mystery and the
greatest library of all time.
