What:  Come down, have some fun and cheer on the teams this weekend at the inaugural Burlington, IA Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. The festival kicks off tonight when the Midwest Magic go head to head with the Burlington fire department at 6:30 PM, and following the GRHS Athletic Trainers take on the GRHS Orthopaedic Specialists at 
7 PM. You won't want to miss the Dunk Contest at noon tomorrow and the Around The World Competition from 10 AM - 2 PM on August 5. Dining, shopping and the Family Fun Zone will be on hand to entertain players and spectators in between games. What:  The Greater Burlington CVB is looking for a lot of volunteers for our upcoming Gus Macker tournament. Check in at the volunteer station near the Port stage to see if you can help us out. No knowledge of basketball is needed; we can teach you what you might need to know! There are 138 teams registered (which equals 552 players), so it should be a great weekend!

The market is in the 300 - 500 blocks next Thursday from 4:30 - 7:30 PM with fresh produce, baked goods, food vendors, crafts, music by Diane DeJaynes, and the seventh annual jalapeño eating contest. We'll also host special Living Well Day booths and activities in the 200 block. The Jefferson St. Farmers Market is organized by Downtown Partners, Inc. and supported by  Two Rivers Bank & Trust .
Downtown Partners is seeking project proposals for the state funded Main Street Challenge Grant. The maximum grant award is $75,000 with a minimum 1:1 cash match required. The project must be downtown; work already begun is not eligible for funding. Visit here for application information. The project proposal deadline is August 17.

What:  The Burlington Municipal Band's last concert of the summer season is the annual "Round Robin" concert featuring multiple conductors.
