Announcing New Housing and
Mental Health Services

Compass Center will be expanding our services to include housing and mental health support.

Due to a grant provided by the Governor's Crime Commission and the support of Cardinal Innovations Healthcare's Community Reinvestment Initiative, we will begin providing transitional housing assistance and therapeutic services to survivors of domestic violence and their children in Orange County. We are in the planning stages and will roll out the services in early 2019.

Thank You For Your Support in July!
On Saturday July 21st, Compass Center hosted another successful night of Drag Queen Bingo with Vivica C. Coxx. Attendees were treated to several rounds of bingo, a few lip-sync performances, and prizes.

Thank you to Vivica and to Linda's Bar and Grill for hosting. Everyone had a fantastic time and we raised nearly $2,500!

On July 29th, the Summer Community Chorus, presented by the Women's Voices Chorus, held their annual benefit concert. While the event is free, each year they collect donations for a local nonprofit. This year, the chorus named Compass Center the beneficiary of funds collected.

Thank you to the Summer Community Chorus, Women's Voice Chorus, and all those who attended and donated! We had a fantastic time and raised a more than $1,000 support our work.
Volunteers Needed
Compass Center is looking for new volunteers!

Compass Center serves more than 6,000 clients annually and relies heavily on volunteer support to be able to meet clients' needs.  Volunteers serve in a variety of roles including as career and  financial coaches, crisis hotline advocates, and event committee members.

Reade has been volunteering as a domestic violence advocate for nearly
two and half years. He appreciates that he has learned how to be present for people in crisis and offer support.

"I started volunteering at Compass Center out of a desire to do more for those impacted by domestic violence. It means a lot to me to be able to provide a safe space and a listening ear for someone in crisis, " says Reade. "Having someone available to validate your feelings can be just what is needed.
