Compass Center is looking for new volunteers!
Compass Center serves more than 6,000 clients annually and relies heavily on volunteer support to be able to meet clients' needs. Volunteers serve in a variety of roles including as career and financial coaches, crisis hotline advocates, and event committee members.
Reade has been volunteering as a domestic violence advocate for nearly
two and half years. He appreciates that he has learned how to be present for people in crisis and offer support.
"I started volunteering at Compass Center out of a desire to do more for those impacted by domestic violence. It means a lot to me to be able to provide a safe space and a listening ear for someone in crisis, " says Reade. "Having someone available to validate your feelings can be just what is needed.
