Academic Success Credit-Bearing Course for International Students

All international undergraduate students are invited to enroll in a newly developed seven-week course for autumn semester 2018, ESEPSY 2060: Academic Success Strategies for International Students (class number: 35953; session 2; TuTh 12:45 - 2:05 p.m.; Younkin 220).

Attend the Resource Fair

The Resource Fair for new international and domestic students is on Thursday, August 16, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The meeting location is the Buckeye Reading Room (260), Thompson Library. At the fair, you will visit with vendors and department representatives to learn more about the important services available to international students at Ohio State. Students will also have the chance to win fun prizes.

Global Engagement Night

Global Engagement Night invites international and domestic students to participate in cross-cultural discussions about different regions of the world and share their thoughts on topics affecting all college students. Global Engagement Night takes place on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in 160 Enarson Classroom Building. The first Global Engagement Night of autumn semester will be on August 28, and it will be a meet and greet. Snacks will be provided!

Global Engagement Film Series

The Office of International Affairs collaborates with the Gateway Film Center to host a monthly international film series. Students have the chance to view films from around the world for free! The next film will be shown on Wednesday, August 22 at 7 p.m. at the Gateway Film Center. Students do not need to register for the event, but plan on coming early because the first 30 students will receive free popcorn and soda! Admission is FREE for students with a BuckID and offered at regular price to the public. Contact Renée Bishai with questions.

You Are Invited: Global Buckeye Celebration

The Global Buckeye Celebration welcomes the newest class of international students at the beginning of autumn semester. The event is an opportunity for international students to meet other international and domestic students, university staff and celebrate their arrival on campus. This year the event will take place on Friday, August 17, 5 - 7 p.m. at the RPAC, Tom W. Davis Gym. Registration is not required. Join the fun! There will be food, games and fun prizes.

Graduate Seminar on Internationalizing Higher Education

This graduate seminar, "ESHESA 7570 Internationalizing Colleges and Universities" introduces students to scholarly and practitioner perspectives on internationalization and globalization of American colleges and universities. The course explores the purposes and impacts of internationalization, examines institutional strategies of internationalization such as study abroad, foreign student enrollment, international collaboration in research, branch campuses and gateways, etc. and discusses the critiques of these practices. The course emphasizes discussion and exchange of ideas based on the readings, media news and guest speaker presentations. The course is offered on Mondays, from 9:35 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. by instructor, Tatiana Suspitsyna, PhD.
