'Last Seen' Mural on Bromfield Street Depicts  Gardner Museum Stolen Artwork

Next time you're walking down Bromfield Street check out the "Last Seen" mural created by Sophy Tuttle that depicts a famous Rembrandt painting stolen during the infamous Isabella Stewart Garden Museum heist in 1990.

Tuttle's mural of Rembrandt Van Rijn's "Christ In The Storm On the Sea of Galilee" is one of several murals throughout Boston as part of the "Last Seen" podcast created by WBUR and The Boston Globe. The podcast is about the infamous heist that is still unsolved.

The mural is due to a partnership between the Downtown Boston BID, WBUR and The Boston Globe. We would like to thank Midwood Investment & Development for allowing the mural to be placed on their building at the corner of Bromfield and Washington streets.

There will be at least one other mural depicting a famous stolen art piece in the BID. Where it will be is part of the mystery...
