The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts stages a variety of shows throughout the year. Some of these include holiday shows by A.V.A Ballet Theatre and the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, both of which are Pioneer Center resident companies. 

A series of shows called "Broadway Comes to Reno!" has been presented for several years. Other shows by local and visiting companies play throughout the year.
The Book of Mormon

Finding Neverland

The King and I
Jan. 18 - Jan. 20, 2019
Two worlds collide in this "breathtaking and exquisite" musical, based on the 2015 Tony Award®-winning Lincoln Center Theater production. One of Rodgers & Hammerstein's finest works, THE KING AND I boasts a score that features such beloved classics as "Getting To Know You," "I Whistle a Happy Tune," "Hello Young Lovers," "Shall We Dance" and "Something Wonderful."



Something Rotten!
Feb. 15 - Feb. 17, 2019
SOMETHING ROTTEN! is "Broadway's big, fat hit!" (New York Post). Set in 1595, this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world's very first MUSICAL!

The Wizard of Oz

There truly is no place like home as the greatest family musical of all time, the wonderful WIZARD OF OZ, twists its way into Reno! The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow in this lavish production, featuring breathtaking special effects, dazzling choreography and classic songs. 


The Lightning Thief
May. 3 - May. 5, 2019
This "winning adaptation" (The Hollywood Reporter) of the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Rick Riordan, THE LIGHTNING THIEF: THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL is "electrifying!" (Newsday). The Greek gods are real, and they're ruining Percy Jackson's life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy has newly discovered powers he can't control, monsters on his trail, and is on an epic quest to find Zeus's lightning bolt to prevent a war between the gods.
