Rowland Chandler, also known as "PC" (Pastor Chandler), peacefully passed away on January 19 in Ventura. Rowland was born in Erskine, Minnesota in January of 1934 and resided in Southern California for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Chandler, along with his daughter, Melanie Buto and her husband, Tim; stepchildren Sean and Katie and their families; five grandchildren, Ryan and Kenny Buto, Robert, Brian and Chris Avery; and three great grandchildren. He will be reunited in heaven with his eldest daughter Marilee.
Rowland Chandler was ordained June 18, 1961, serving as Pastor for over 50 Years in various churches from Sweetwater, Texas to Marin County and Bellflower, California. "PC" retired in 2001 after 18 years of service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Granada Hills, CA.
Pastor Chandler and Janet his wife, always enjoyed life; traveling, golfing, and visiting with family and friends, and will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The Chandler Family is planning a small private family service in March at Trinity, Ventura in the Columbarium/Remembrance Garden, and is planning on a memorial service later in the year, depending on COVID-19 status. Please contact Janet Chandler at pcjchandler@msn.com for more information.
