RIDDLE, EGNER, STEWART WIN MAINS,
NEAT, BROWN TAKE TITLES
The grand racing finale of the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech season came on Saturday September 22, 2018. The Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars put a bow or should I say “tied” a bow to their July-August-September campaign. Sophomore series racer Tristan Riddle was on his marks in the 30-lap contest picking up his first career class victory. Dale Harper was a close second.

Nate Canter was third and EJ Neat fourth to tie for the point crown. Neat took the title tiebreaker via most wins. EJ adds this championship with his April-May-June 1st place to sweep points pursuits. Neat took 5 of the 9 features in the second half campaign including 4-in-a-row. His 2018 also included a pair of non-points Figure 8 race wins.

The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had another monster field (45 cars) on this last 2018 night. Feature race #1 saw Stephen Egner captured his second career “A” main in back-to-back events. Veteran and early leader Rich Catron was the runner-up, Sportsdrome invader Tommy Hardison finished third. The second 30-lapper had Scott Stewart Jr rally late to take an exciting victory over the unrelated pair of Tylar Brown and Andrew Brown.

Andrew Brown came away with the July-August-September championship. He, like Neat, swept the season point campaigns. Brown’s second full year behind the wheel showed great consistency. In this latter half challenge, he had 2 main event victories and 11 top five results. Andrew was a threat to win on each night as he patiently worked to the front from his customary tail starting position.
