JANET REVELL BARRETT
Sunday, November 29 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

David Whyte writes: “Thankfulness finds its full measure in generosity of presence, both through participation and witness.” We explore this idea through a cornucopia of reflections from persons of many ages and perspectives that range from the unabashedly grateful to the less certain. We gather together in shared appreciation of our lives, inviting others to join us and to witness gratitude in fuller measure.

UUCUC'S "BUDDY SYSTEM"
Staying connected while
UUCUC facilities are closed

During this time of social distancing, staying in touch and checking in with each other is going to be very important. We hope you will consider being part of our "Buddy System" so we can care for one another.

You can sign up here: https://uucuc.breezechms.com/form/2184f1. Buddies will check in with each other regularly by phone to provide connection, companionship, and connections to help if needed. This is a great way to help each other.
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org for last Sunday, November 8.

From Florence Caplow: Sorrow for the death of 16 year old Gerryontae J. Brown of Champaign, who was shot and killed Thursday night in Champaign. Sending prayers to his bereaved family, and mourning the loss of yet another young person in our community to gun violence.

From Marsha Clinard: Three weeks ago Charlie Boast had surgery to implant part of a cochlear device with its 16 electrodes. Last Friday the exterior processor was attached and it was magical. For the first time in 35 years, Charlie was hearing sounds in his left side and his brain quickly responded. It was awesome and much learning and new adventures lie ahead. What joy!

From Ellen Jacobsen: Joy in some hours of virtual time with my grandkids yesterday. Sorrow that I couldn’t hug them and that there is such huge chaos in our country.

From Julie Laut: It is with fear and sadness that I anticipate the approach of nearly 250,000 Americans dead from this virus. My heart breaks open to send love to all those lost and those who will continue to suffer.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service each Sunday. They will be read aloud.
GIVING AND GRATITUDE
UUCUC Social Action Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive offerings from our congregation. You may donate to the social action offering for the month in one of the following ways:

During the month of November, our monthly social action offering will support the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. UUSC is a 4-star nonprofit organization that strives to center the voices of people most affected by injustice.

They create relationships with frontline grassroots movements across the world that support marginalized communities. This work is especially important during this global pandemic. UUSC is providing flexible support to their grantee partners around the world and encouraging their partners to pivot as needed in response to the pandemic.

Now and following the pandemic, UUSC will support self-determination and defend the rights of people displaced due to climate, conflict, oppression, or economic hardships. Read more.
RECENT SHARED OFFERINGS

During the month of October 2020, Cunningham Township Angel Donor Fund was selected to be the shared offering. The UUCUC congregation contributed a total of $1,500 that month!

This Angel Fund was launched in 2018 by Cunningham Township to provide life-saving support for township program participants who have one-time miscellaneous needs that fall outside existing programs. All donated funds go directly to secure food, clothing, house, power and transportation.
