Engaging the Loneliness Epidemic
Reverend Mary Ann Macklin
What are the spiritual roots of loneliness? How does loneliness differ from solitude? What role does a congregation, and ministries such as our Chalice Circle program, play in healing the epidemic of loneliness in our country? Join us for this worship service in which Reverend Macklin will explore this important topic. We will hear from Chalice Circle participant Pat Slabach, and there will also be a Getting Involved Fair between services in Fellowship Hall.
This Week in Religious Education: Curiosity
Kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade will engage their curiosity about our congregation through story, scavenger hunt, outdoors, and social justice. Parents can find out where to pick up their child by looking at the signs on the nursery window.  World of Wonder (Preschool) at 9:15 am will participate in intersession. This week they will go outside to help take care of our church grounds. 11:15 am preschoolers will hear the story of Elizabeth Lion and the Collection Basket.
High School Youth Group will meet in Room 210 from 12:30 - 2:30 pm where they will host 7th & 8th grade OWL participants for pizza and games. High school youth can learn what is going on this month in youth group and sign up here:

Monday! Tell IU Students about UUCB!
Volunteer at our table at the IU Student Involvement Fair on  Monday, August 20.  The fair is scheduled from  3 -  7 pm. Let Ann LeDuc know if you can spare an hour or two to represent UUCB by emailing [email protected].
We love getting messages like this from Duke Energy.  Those solar panels on the church roofs are really taking care of business!
"To UU Church: Because you do not owe any money on your Duke Energy bill this month, no automatic payment has been scheduled. Love, Duke Energy"
Represent UUCB at Pridefest!
We need a few friendly people to represent UUCB in our tent at Pridefest on August 25. Sign up here. Pridefest is Bloomington's annual celebration of LGBTQ+ life and culture. Volunteering in our tent is easy and fun! Questions? Contact Ann LeDuc, Connections Coordinator, at [email protected].
