SEEKING NOMINATIONS
Cornerstone Award, Business of the Year, 
and Board of Directors
Award Winners will be announced at the Chamber Annual Gala
2019 Cornerstone Award
This prestigious award is given to an individual or non-profit organization that has made significant contributions to the Altavista area and its citizens. The individual or group you nominate should be a model to look up to and follow with pride and praise.

Eligibility:
Nominees must live or operate in the Altavista area.

Criteria for the award include:
  1. Demonstrated outstanding leadership and active contributions to the quality of life in our community.
  2. Committed involvement in advancing their profession, industry or organization.
  3. A record of dedicated support to and positive impact on our town and residents.
To nominate an individual or non-profit organization for the Cornerstone Award, please submit up to five reasons for your nomination. Self nominations are welcome.  Completed nomination forms must be received no later than Friday, November 8, 2019.  

2019 Business of the Year
Please take a few minutes and nominate a fellow chamber member to receive this award. 
Nominees for the Business of the Year Award should be a distinguished business that has made a positive impact in Altavista or the surrounding area. 

Eligibility / Criteria includes:
  1. Business must be a member in good standing with the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce.
  2. Business must show growth in workforce and/or company sales/revenue/profit.
  3. Business needs to demonstrate commitment to the community.
Completed nominations must be received by Friday, November 8, 2019.

Chamber Board of Directors
Do you have what it takes? Or do you have a friend or co-worker that is a go-getter? The Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce needs your help, we are seeking nominations for the upcoming open Board of Director seats. You can make several nominations or even nominate yourself.

Why would someone want to volunteer to be a Chamber Board of Director? It's a great opportunity to give back to the Altavista community and be involved in planning events for the town such as Uncle Billy's Day, TGIF and the Christmas Parade. Other great reasons include building a resume that includes leadership and volunteer service. Being on the Board helps to establish strong community relationships, earn recognition for a business, and be part of a TEAM.

Board of Directors Requirements:
  • Must come from the membership of the Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Willing to serve a 3 year term that begins January 1, 2020.
  • Actively participate in at least one (1) Chamber committee.
  • Attend at least four (4) Chamber related functions per year (not include Board, committee meetings or Uncle Billy's Day).
  • Actively participate in Uncle Billy's Day Festival the 1st Saturday and the Friday before in June.
  • Bring in at least one (1) new Member per year and help solicit sponsorships for Chamber events.
