Spotlight on Girl Scout Juniors!
Lana & Riley - Prairie Village, KS

Did you know that a Girl Scout can complete her Bronze Award individually, as a pair or as a troop?! Lana & Riley from (now) GS Cadette Troop 3617 just earned their Bronze Award! These Girl Scouts worked all summer, having lemonade stands and making and selling dog and cat toys out of donated t-shirts to do their money earning. They used the funds to buy supplies needed to make elevated beds for the dogs at Wayside Waifs. They made 5 for their project, and delivered them last week. They plan to continue making and donating 10 more beds within the next few months. FANTASTIC PROJECT! Way to go, Lana & Riley!!
Troop 2240 - Topeka, KS

Good Sport, Earth-Friendly Girl Scouts! Troop 2240 is committed to their Take Action project to keep parks around their community cleaned up. This time, these hard-working Girl Scouts took on Mouse Trap Skate Park. It's always so surprising what they find during a clean-up... a spatula? Yep! We also love those inspiring messages they left! Following their clean-up, they worked on their Good Sportsmanship badge. AWESOME! We love all the fantastic activities this troop does!!
Tell us about your girl! How is your Girl Scout taking the lead? We love our Girl Scouts in action with our programs, but we are not limited here. Is she taking the lead in school, in her place of worship or in another group activity? Share with us at prdept@gsksmo.org or use the social media icons below with #BecauseofGirlScouts.
