Maccabi helps to make a dream come true
Maccabi helps to make a dream come true
A teacher in rural South Africa had a DREAM of DOING something for the community - but didn’t know HOW!
We heard that she started netball at her school in her own time with no resources or support and currently there are 50 netball players who LOVE it!

Recently Sheryl Furman (Maccabi Victoria GM)organised to send her a box of preloved Maccabi tracksuits and netball dresses.
The teacher sent photos of the team, the first time ever these girls had matching anything.
Not only have the Maccabi uniform donations made a big impact, but the group have learn't about the Jewish values of Tzedakah and kindness to those need.

Anno unc ing the Special Guest Speaker for the Friends Of Maccabi Luncheon
We are delighted to announce the Special Guest Speaker for the October Luncheon

Paul Fink is very lucky to be alive.
Their family was nearly torn apart when - aged just 34 years, Paul suffered a massive stroke

A sport obsessed and health conscious man, Paul showed none of the warning signs of someone likely to suffer a traumatic brain injury. But in the prime of his life, a new dream job working at AFL house, a beautiful new baby boy and having just moved into a brand new house, everything came crumbling down. Paul ended up fighting for his life in a hospital bed where against all odds he managed to survive but found himself, paralysed and unable to communicate.
His story is one of beating the odds and finding the silver lining when life deals you what seems to be an unwinnable hand.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear his extraordinary story.
