Formation Classes this Sunday
October 20, 9:30-10:30 AM
ADULTS

RECTOR'S FORUM
Leader:  Fr. Muir
Location: The Parlor

The Rector's Forum offers a time and place for engaging conversation that is not anchored to a specific curriculum or topic. Always we consider how to honestly and faithfully live out our Baptismal vows, whatever the topic of the day.

ADULTS

SAINT PAUL'S STEWARDSHIP
Sunday, October 20, October 27, or November 3
Also Sunday, October 27 4:30 PM in the Nave
Leader: Brad Sandbach & Fr. Jenkins
Location: The Chapel

Giving is at the heart of God's life, and so the practice of giving is at the very heart of our faith and of loving God, neighbor, and self.

Every person who participates in the life and community of Saint Paul's Church is invited to attend one stewardship gathering. At the gatherings, we will have conversations about faith and "the practice of giving." These conversations aim to enlarge our definition of "giving" well beyond traditional categories of money or talent. We also will discuss how our shared practice of giving will shape the future of our church. A new kind of "pledge card" will be distributed at the gatherings.

Our message is encouraging, faithful, and very hopeful, so please choose today which session you will attend.

YOUTH

YOUTH FORMATION
Leader:  Todd Shafer
Location: The Youth Room

Youth Formation returns with a look at the movies and a discussion of the Christian themes found in them.   BUT FIRST, a little breakfast to get things going! For more information, contact Todd Shafer.

CHILDREN AGES -- Ages 8-11 or Grades 3 - 5

WEAVING GOD'S PROMISES
Leader: Coleman Graham
Location: The First Classroom in CMC

Our bigger children will immerse themselves in an Episcopal formation experience rooted in the stories of our faith as presented in John's Gospel. In this second of a three-year cycle, our children focus on stories of individual encounters with Jesus, transformation in God's love, and the saints of the church. Our theme in this curriculum year is "Once we were no people, but now we are God's people." Every session incorporates theology and history from our Episcopal-Anglican perspective. Questions? Contact  Coleman Graham  or  Fr. Jenkins.

CHILDREN -- 4s to 8, Kindergarten thru 2nd grade

GODLY PLAY
Leader:   Kim Butler and Ivey Coleman
Location: The Godly Play Room

We take children and their relationship with God seriously and seek to provide both space to foster encounters with God and the language necessary to make meaning of those experiences. Within the Godly Play classroom, the Biblical narrative is lovingly presented to children using beautiful materials with an invitation to step into each story with awe and wonder. Children are then allowed time to respond to and reflect on their experience of the story.

News from Building and Grounds

Let there be light!

You will notice, if you haven't already, bright clear light and updated fixtures in the office interiors and halls, east parking lot, breezeway, and around the exterior of the chapel. In the offices, new LED bulb and fixtures are replacing old and faded "neon," and outdoors new LED will improve entry and exit for nighttime meetings and discourage vandalism.

The upgrade in the office was partially underwritten by a grant received from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light and an anonymous (much appreciated) gift; the outdoor fixtures have been upgraded and repaired from the Buildings and Grounds budget. In both cases, we are taking advantage of rebates from Georgia Power as we upgrade to improve our power bill.
