Customised Courses

We held over twenty customised courses in 2019, both online and face-to-face in-house courses, with content tailored to suit each organisation's individual project requirements. Many of the courses also included instructional manuals that used each organisation's own projects as the tutorial model. If you are interested in a quote for in-house training, please contact me and we'll send over a proposal.

Workshop Guide

If you work through the exercises in any of our pdf manuals, please  submit any comments or suggestions for improvement so that I can update the document and make the revised version available for you and other course attendees to download.

Feedback

For those who attended our courses this year, I would certainly appreciate any additional feedback through our online survey (please be completely candid and stay anonymous if you'd like!) I would like you to be able to recommend our training to your friends and colleagues without reservation, so please be assured that I will make every effort to incorporate all of your suggestions as additional courses are planned and course materials are updated.

Thanks for your support in 2019; it was quite a year with courses held all around the world and our biggest worldwide webinar yet with over 1200 registered attendees! Another highlight of the year was a  tour of the HEC offices in Davis with the HEC-RAS development team, including a walk-through of the new features coming in Version 5.1 and 6.0.

We're looking forward to 2020 with new live courses, online courses, free webinars, and more!

Live courses

2019 wrap-up. In addition to courses in New Zealand, Belize, and elsewhere around the world, we took a road trip around North America that included courses in Los Angeles, Seattle, New York City, Toronto, and more. We were excited to kick it all off with the first-ever HEC-RAS Pub & Grub in Portland.

Looking ahead to 2020. The Pub & Grub in Portland will continue with Round 2, including previews of what's new in HEC-RAS 5.1, presented by the developers themselves! As for live courses, we'll be toning it down a bit next year after this year's crazy agenda, but we'll still be holding our annual, week-long face-to-face course with Golovin in Auckland New Zealand covering both HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS. Registration is now open, so please respond early to confirm your place. Registration forms can be downloaded here

Free webinars

2019 wrap-up. Our 2019 webinar agenda included QGIS, sediment transport, and a preview of what's new in HEC-HMS from the HEC team members themselves. Recordings of previous webinars are available on the Australian Water School's YouTube channel here.

Looking ahead to 2020. Upcoming webinars include 3D CFD modelling, Python scripting, roughness coefficients, and more. Do you have suggestions for future webinar topics? The Australian Water School is looking for sponsorships for future webinar if your firm is interested in some great advertising opportunities. If you have suggested topics or interest in sponsorship, please let us know

Online courses

2019 wrap-up. Our 2019 online courses included HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D, HEC-RAS 2D, hydraulic structures, dam breach, and sediment transport. Thanks to all who participated - we certainly appreciated your feedback and the interaction, especially being able to cover your own models in our one-on-one zoom sessions that are included with each course.

Looking ahead to 2020. We'll be repeating each of the online courses at least once in 2020. Register your interest through ICE WaRM's web links that are listed here.

Instructional videos

2019 wrap-up. Thanks to all the subscribers who helped push us over 100,000 views for our instructional videos. Our new 2019 videos included a prequel for setting up RAS Mapper from scratch.

Looking ahead to 2020. We'll be posting new videos on difference mapping, internal boundary conditions, roughness coefficients, and more.  Subscribe to our YouTube channel to be notified when new videos are posted.
