quo.ta.bles

As a writer, I'm more interested in what people tell themselves happened rather than what actually happened
- Kazuo Ishiguro

The beauty and mystery of this world only emerges through affection, attention, interest and compassion . . . open your eyes wide and actually see this world by attending to its colors, details and irony.
- Orhan Pamuk, My Name is Red

...maybe in our bodies there's a whole world of mythology? Maybe there exists some sort of reflection of the great and the small, the human body joining within itself everything with everything - stories and heroes, gods and animals, the order of plants and the harmony of minerals?
- Olga Tokarczuk,  Flights

The conversation of kisses. Subtle, engrossing, fearless, transforming.
- Alice Munro,   R unaway
WELCOME!
Welcome to Christian Nieto, our newest employee. Christian recently completed an apprenticeship in Drawing and Painting from the Academy of Classical Design. When he's not shelving books or vacuuming up cat hair, you can find him in his studio, playing music, or dreaming about Puerto Rico.
CAT CORNER

Have you ever snapped a photo of one of our cats? Email us the picture, and we might use it in the next newsletter!
It appears Sammy is a fan of all things Richard Brautigan. We have a handful of his prose and poetry books. These don't last long, so if you're looking to expand your collection of psychologically tormented countercultural 1960s writers, here's your chance!
Boo says, "You must pay a toll of 5 treats before you can walk down the aisle...I can be bribed however with a good head scratch."
Little Boo relocates from the top of the shelf to the middle of the shelf. Progress!
Sweet Tiger, the last remaining cat from the colony at the back of the store. He misses his buddies, and would consider a new home with kind people...and perhaps a new brother or sister!
Jayden and the Cat in the Hat celebrate the cooler weather over a cup of hot chocolate.
