Preservation Trust of Vermont
Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants 

The Preservation Trust of Vermont is pleased to announce the opening of the 2019 Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization grant round. 

This project is supported through a grant from the Historic Revitalization Subgrant Program (Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants) as administered by the National Park Service Department of the Interior.

PTV has $625,000 available for roof repair or replacement, structural repairs, window and door restoration, and fire safety improvements. Grants will be made in increments of $50,000-$100,000. 

Applications will be evaluated by Preservation Trust of Vermont staff. Selection will be made based on regional distribution, variety of project type, community and economic development potential and the capacity of the active, local working group. 


Deadline to submit Letter of Interest: November 18, 2019 

Projects will be notified of funding by December 9, 2019


Northeast Heritage Economy Program

The Preservation Trust of Vermont, in collaboration with Maine Preservation, the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and the Preservation League of New York State, are pleased to announce the opening of the 2019 Northeast Heritage Economy Program (NHEP) grant round. 

The NHEP partners received a $1,000,000 grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) to help communities undertake locally-driven historic preservation projects with strong community and economic revitalization potential. The Preservation Trust of Vermont has roughly $230,000 available for sub-grants to eligible projects. 

Preservation Trust of Vermont will have two tiers of funding. The first tier, or highest priority projects, will be Community Supported Enterprises. The second tier of funding will be for preservation projects with strong economic development potential. 


Deadline to submit application: December 20, 2019

Projects will be notified of funding by February 14, 2020

1772 Foundation 
In cooperation with the Preservation Trust of Vermont, the 1772 Foundation has announced that funding in the form of 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000 will be made available for the following historic preservation projects: exterior painting, finishes and surface restoration, fire detection/lightning protection/security systems, repairs to/restoration of porches, roofs and windows, repairs to foundations and sills, and chimney and masonry repointing. 
To demonstrate the sustainability of historic sites, applicants may be required to submit a cyclical maintenance plan, condition assessment, restoration plan or stewardship plan that has been prepared or updated within the last five years. If an appropriate plan does not exist, the Foundation will consider providing support for development of a plan on a case-by-case basis. 

Deadline to submit Letter of Interest: January 15, 2020 

Invited applications will be due March 6, 2020
