Funny Hat Day

Friday, February 12, is Rosh Chodesh Adar. This is the beginning of the month of Adar, the month that includes Purim. Our greeting for Rosh Chodesh Adar is Mi Sheh-nich-nas Adar, Marbim B'simcha, "When Adar comes in, we increase our joy!"

To celebrate on February 12, all students and staff are encouraged to wear a funny hat. Be happy, it's Adar
Purim Mitzvah Project

Help us honor the Purim Mitzvah of giving gifts to those in need (Matanot La-Evyonim) מתנות לאביונים by contributing the following clothing items. These can be new or gently used, and whatever size or style you contribute will be fine. As we don our costumes for Purim, others will be able to don clothing they need.

Bring these in between now and Purim Day so that we can donate them on Purim, in accordance with the mitzvah. We are asking each grade to donate these items.
  • Grades K-2: socks
  • Grades 3-5: winter hats or gloves
  • Grades 6-8: t-shirts or underwear
Financial Aid Applications Due by February 28

We are now accepting Tuition Assistance Applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Applications are due no later than Feb. 28, 2021. Awards will be communicated in mid-April. Families must re-apply for financial aid each year.

Financial assistance requests are processed by TADS, a third-party service, and held in strictest confidence by Heilicher personnel. Visit the Financial Forms area of the school website to review the worksheet and application. Financial assistance is granted based on demonstrated need and availability of scholarship funds.
Heilicher Office Hours for Midwinter Break

The Heilicher office will be closed on Monday, 2/15 and Friday, 2/19.

Voice mails left on the Main Office phone line will continue to be retrieved and distributed to the appropriate recipients daily, with the exception of 2/15 and 2/19.

If you need to connect with an administrator during Midwinter Break, you are encouraged to email them directly. Our administrators will be largely working offsite during break. Teachers will not be available to respond to email or voice mail messages during break.

The next issue of Roar will be sent out on Thursday, February 25.
Reporting Planned Travel During Midwinter Break

As we approach Midwinter Break, please remember to use the Heilicher Communications Center to report your travel.

At this time, we are not asking families to quarantine after domestic travel, but we ask that you fill out the form before your trip so Nurse Katie can follow up with each family as needed.
