Fundraiser Scheduled at Hershey Recreation Center
The public is invited to attend a special fundraising event inside the empty outdoor pool to help raise money for the new Hershey Community Center.

Adult Swim: Last Call  will be held Friday, September 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and feature food and drinks donated by area businesses.

The event is $100 per person and contributions are tax-deductible.

In the next few weeks, Derry Township Parks and Recreation will hold a fun, free community-wide event before the outdoor pool closes. People will have a chance to learn more about the schedule for the current facility and plans for the new one.

Hershey Hometown Fun at Market on Chocolate
It doesn't take long after summer ends to miss fresh, sun-ripened tomatoes, sweet, juicy watermelons, and home-grown, delicious corn on the cob. Get it while you can at Market on Chocolate this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

See the Sand Mandala at the Hershey Public Library
The Hershey Public Library and Hershey All Things Diversity welcome the artist Monks of the Deprung Gomang Monastery Wednesday, August 22 through Friday, August 24 at the library, 701 Cocoa Avenue.

The mandala is made by the methodical placement of grains of sand and is a temporary creation.

Hands on activities will be offered on Wednesday, August 22 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. This is a unique opportunity to try your hand at sand painting using the same tools the monks use to create the sand mandala. Learn how to paint traditional Tibetan symbols and mantras onto a stone. Please bring your own stone. Paint and brushes will be provided. Registration is not required.
Summer Quest Celebration
  A special celebration for families who completed Summer Quest at Shank Park will be held on Wednesday, August 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Avenue.

Enjoy an exclusive showing of the movie from the famous fairy tale, The Bremen Town Musicians . Your completed page of rubbings is your ticket! You may register in advance at the Children's Service desk.

Get Your Yard Waste Ready for Collection
Yard waste will be collected August 20-24.

An unlimited amount of wood and yard waste will be collected curbside and should be placed at the curb by 5:00 a.m.

Items must be in a container no bigger than 32 gallons or in a “Kraft” bag no heavier than 50 lbs. Branches and tree limbs must not exceed 3″ in diameter, must be cut to 4′ in length, bundled and secured by rope or twine and must not be heavier than 50 lbs.

Grass clippings are NOT to be collected under this program and are to be treated as solid waste. Call Waste Management at 1-800-634-4595 for additional information.

We Matter Outreach Coalition Offers Suicide Prevention Training
The We Matter Coalition will hold a suicide prevention training presented by certified trainers from Philhaven on Monday, September 24 from 5:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Avenue.

The event is open to all adult community members and will cover how to recognize warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to obtain help.
Baked With Love INC Pie Auction
You are invited to the 8th Annual Baked with Love INC Pie Auction. This event features delectable homemade pie creations up for bid and tasting, as well as local merchandise and gift certificates up for grabs. 

This annual fundraiser and celebration to benefit Love INC (In the Name of Christ) of Greater Hershey will be held Friday, October 12, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Hershey Country Club, Picard Grand Pavilion. 

Enjoy light hors d'ouvres, a pie walk, fellowship, and friendly bidding at the Silent Auction from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Compete for unique pie entries in the Live Auction beginning at 8:15 until 9:00 p.m. 

Tickets are $25 through October 7, and $30 after October 7. 

Bakers are invited to donate their savory and dessert pie creations on October 11 and 12.
