Rutgers Undergrads Implement Civic Engagement Programs in Local High Schools
Eagleton's Center for Youth Political Participation (CYPP) is currently accepting applications for the Darien Civic Engagement Project, which gives students the opportunity to implement the RU Ready civic engagement initiative in local high schools. Rutgers undergraduates provide high school students with the motivation and the civic, political, and expressive tools they need to address public problems in their community.

As part of the project, students enroll in a 1.5 credit Topics in Political Science course taught by Dr. Elizabeth C. Matto, associate research professor and CYPP director.

Eagleton Science and Politics Initiative
Science Fellows & Political Practitioner Discuss National Science Policy
Eagleton Science Fellows had the opportunity to discuss national science policy with Billy Flemming, Ph.D. Flemming is the director of the University of Pennsylvania's McHarg Center for Urbanism and Ecology, an interdisciplinary think tank that seeks to reconcile environmentalism and social science. He previously worked on policy development in the White House Domestic Policy Council during the Obama Administration.  Flemming was on campus to give a Planetary Stewardship Lecture at the Rutgers Institute of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences.
Seeking Scientists for the Eagleton Science and Politics Fellowship Class of 2021
Science Fellows apply their scientific training and expertise to the development and implementation of relevant New Jersey state policy. Applications for the Class of 2021 Eagleton Science Fellows will open on November 22nd

Those interested in the program are invited to meet the current Science Fellows and learn more about the program at an information session  on December 5th at 11:30 AM.

Educating & Empowering a New Generation of Women
Eagleton's Center for American Women and Politics will start accepting applications for the Susan N. Wilson NEW Leadership® New Jersey Program on Wednesday, October 30th. NEWL is a six-day residential summer institute that educates college women about public leadership, introduces them to successful women leaders, and provides them with the tools to become more involved in the political process. The program is open to college women attending four year higher education institutions in New Jersey. Rising juniors and seniors from four-year higher education institutions and all students from two-year higher education institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.

NEWL  New Jersey 2020 will take place June 11-16 in New Brunswick.
Application deadline: February 23rd
