Principal's Message
Please mark your calendar, GCPS will observe a Student/Teacher Holiday on Friday, February 12 and on Monday, February 15 GCPS has scheduled a Teacher Planning/Staff Development and Student Holiday. Please be mindful that teachers will not be available to students on these days. This is a great opportunity to catch up on some school work or simply enjoy some downtime.

As a reminder the RBES Parent Survey will be administered Monday, February 8 through Friday, February 26. Due to the pandemic, GCPS is administering a contactless version of the survey this year. SchoolMessenger will deliver an email invitation to families to complete a survey for each school at which they have one or more enrolled students.

High School: Dual Enrollment Information
Dual Enrollment (DE) is a dual-credit program that allows high school students in grades 11 and 12 (10th graders that have achieved GPA/SAT/ACT scores for Zell Miller eligibility OR seeking CTAE elective pathway courses) the option of pursuing college credit through approved colleges and universities either as a full-time or part-time college student. Students who successfully complete an approved academic course from the state’s DE course list earn both high school and college credits. Students must apply and be accepted to a participating eligible postsecondary institution. College approved courses taken must count toward high school graduation requirements. The program pays for college tuition, books, and mandatory fees. Credit hours paid by DE do not count toward the limit of hours paid for by the HOPE Scholarship or HOPE Grant programs. Please click HERE to learn more about Dual Enrollment.

Students should consider the admission requirements at the colleges they are interested in attending for specific guidance in terms of which college credit option is the best for their individual goals.

Ms. Laura Indorf (GOC's dual enrollment coordinator) will be offering a meeting (virtual/in-person) for interested full-time GOC students and parents in the month of February.
