Central Christian Church Members,
We pray that each of you continue to stay healthy and take good care of yourselves and your loved ones while we get through this pandemic. We understand that these past several months have been difficult and have brought challenges to us all. We appreciate the efforts of our church staff who have been able to put together “services” for us online. Today, though, we want to briefly shift away from those challenges to focus on something else – our senior minister.
On June 9, we received a letter of resignation from our senior minister, Jeff Gill. Jeff is an outstanding individual and his love and dedication has been a blessing to our church for over eight years as senior minister not to mention his service previously as our youth minister. Both Jeff and Joyce have given so much to our church over the years, but each have family obligations that must be a priority for them now. For this reason, we regretfully accept his resignation as our senior minister and Joyce has stepped down as choir director.
We have begun conversations about our next steps and Jeff has been very accommodating and helpful in this process. We will immediately begin looking for someone to serve in a “transitional leader” position for the church, giving us time to put together a Search and Call Committee for consideration. We plan to have a General Board meeting (in person or virtual) so that we can begin our search for a new senior minister.
Jeff has committed his time with the church through August 9. We are certain our congregation joins us in wishing the Gill family the best and offering prayers of support as they continue to care for and assist their families.
