"Celebrating God's Presence, Serving All People"
United Church News October 18th, 2019
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

At a recent meeting of our Board of Church Life and Growth, our ministry committee chairs spoke enthusiastically about United Church's "spirit of inclusion." Indeed, part of what we all love about United Church is that we are a church for  all  people in our community. Simply put, we are includers. Of course, our spirit of inclusion has deep roots in Christ. For on one particular occasion, Jesus became so passionate about the virtue of inclusion that he overturned a few tables! I'll say more on Sunday in a message from Mark 11: 12-19 entitled "Furious Inclusion."

Blessings,

Pastor Mark

As we move into the "season" at United Church and our participation on Sunday mornings increases, be sure to remember to wear your name-tag! Wearing your name-tag helps members, visitors, and staff all connect with one another. If you don't have a name tag or if you lost your name tag, be sure to call or email the church office and Administrative Assistant Wanda Anderson will be sure you have one. Also, if you are a friend of United Church or a frequent visitor and would like a name tag, we would love to provide you one. Simply email or call the church office, and we'll make it happen!

Bible Study
Pastor Mark's Fall Bible Study:
I John, II John, III John

Continuing this Tuesday at 10AM, Pastor Mark leads his fall Bible Study on John's letters in the New Testament. In his letters, John expresses delight at believers who are "walking in the truth" and behaving with the integrity that reflects the gospel. This involved not just correct doctrine but living and embodying love for God and neighbor. It's this love, John argued, that shows the truth of the gospel really being grasped. All are invited to attend! Simply bring your Bible and an open mind!
