Embrace Grace Ministry
Begins September 5th
Embrace Grace provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and non-judging place for the girls to run to when they find out they are pregnant. This 12-week program teaches them about God's love and grace, and at the end of the class a baby shower will be given to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby's needs.
The group will be meeting on Wednesdays beginning
September 5th from 6:30-8:00 pm
and we'll need your help! Would you prayerfully consider coming alongside us as we launch this ministry?
Want to get involved? Attend our informational meeting
Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 pm.
You may also indicate your interest on a connection card or email [email protected].

Dillon's Card Fundraiser
If you're not already earning money through the Dillon's Community Rewards Program for your student's account, you should be!!! It's a simple 2-step process. Step 1 is for you to login to your Dillon's Shoppers Card Account online and designate HFN as the beneficiary of your Community Rewards. To do this, go to
www.dillons.com, login with your username and password, click the "community" tab near the top, and select "Community Rewards". On the page that comes up, either use our "Organization Code" which is 10140, or simply type in "First Church of the Nazarene". A list of organizations should appear. Choose the one with the address of "4290 N. Monroe". After you've done this, all you have to do is visit this page at the end of each quarter and send
Pastor Mark a copy/pic of how much you've earned. Earning money to help your student participate in Student Ministry events is that easy!

Back 2 School Night
Tonight, August 15th
6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
We're throwing our 6th annual Paint the Night B2S Party!!! Your student will wanna wear clothes that they won't care if they are changed forever (i.e., stained ... including their shoes)! There will be food, games, photo opps and of course, t-shirts to paint up! We're charging $5 per student this year to help with our costs. Students are encouraged to invite an unchurched friend. We're opting to try and get rid of some of our past shirts this year, so new shirts will be first come first serve. When you come to pick up your student(s) that night, you'll want to have the seat they'll be riding in covered with some sort of protective layer to avoid having your vehicle changed forever like their clothes will be.
Next Wednesday, August 22nd
Next Wednesday we will have special guest Rick Nielsen with us. Rick is a long time friend of Pastor Bones, which is our connection, but beyond that, he is a nationally known speaker, magician, juggler, and humorist. Our Middle School and High School Ministries will combine next week in the High School Chapel to hear Rick's message of hope and encouragement. If you want to know more about Rick, you can go to his website.
Naz Nite @ the Kansas State Fair

The tickets include gate admission, and they are first come first serve. Students and families interested in tickets can contact Pastor Josh directly. We will also be encouraging our attendees to wear "Hutch 1st Naz Students" shirts that night. They are $10 and you can contact Pastor Josh for those as well
