Good Morning ,
Welcome to our
July & August 2018 Newsletter, out a few days early so you can enjoy reading it over the weekend. And what a comprehensive publication it is with no fewer than 5 recent Figaro events featured.
Last month we attended our
Jersey Figaro Rally which was a truly amazing event in every way. The weather was so kind to us with sun every day allowing us to enjoy convoy top-down driving. But what really made this rally so special were our members. Again, just like Yorkshire the year before, everyone was so friendly and up for everything we could chuck at them (including ten-pin bowling and wearing very silly hats!).
We really are one big happy family.
Sue and I cannot wait to meet up again next year and on that note, last week we drove down to Llandrindod to prepare for our
Wales Figaro Rally & Birthday Party (THE BIG ONE). We test drove a number of key routes and tried to picture a convoy snake of 99 Figs behind us!
Lastly a quick shout-out to
Konrad Grosse who last week became our
3,000 Member. Little did I know that back in 2009 when we started and had 3 members by the end of the week we would grow to such a size.

Wales Figaro Rally 2019 Update
As mentioned above last week Sue and I spent a couple of very successful days in Wales preparing for next years rally. We met up with the hotel's owner (Justin Baird-Murray) at The Metropole in Llandrindod to go over the parking (100 Figs) and our 10th Birthday Party. He and his team are very excited about our rally and will be excellent hosts for this one-off event.
In addition to meeting up with a number of venue owners to again arrange parking, we also managed to drive some of the routes which will be
spectacular as we pictured 99 figs behind us with our rally flags flapping away!
The rally will be officially launched for booking on
Tuesday 4th September 2018.
We will only have 100 car allocations and interest is already very strong.

Members try to raise £56,644 for RNLI

To complete the challenge, the more observant of you will also notice that the couple have swapped their Pale Aqua Figaro named 'Figgy' for a slightly quicker car. In fact it's a
Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet with all wheel drive and steer. The car has also been painted Lava Orange (to match the lifeboats).

About the club
How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.
Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born! We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.
Today the club has around 1,300 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives - we FIGure in a good way.
