THANK YOU!
Spring Celebration was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who attended, or bid from home, to support our largest fundraiser this past Thursday. The event wouldn't have been possible without the large team of parent volunteers to make it all happen. Your efforts are so appreciated. We'd also like to give a big THANK YOU to Beth McPeek for serving as the event Chair and being our fearless leader!!
In the next week, we will share more details with you as we do some accounting, and we'll also send a link to the slideshow that Mrs. Hughes created of all the happy Hyde Park kids!

Staff Appreciation Week is May 7th - May 11th
We have the absolute best staff here at Hyde Park School and this is the week to show our appreciation! For all they do for our children, let's pitch in and make this a wonderful week full of our gratitude.
There are many ways you can participate and volunteer. Please follow the link to see how you can be a part of this week's events.
Monday, May 7th- Continental Breakfast
We need lots of breakfast item donations to make this a success. Please use the below link to sign up to bring something in.
Tuesday, May 8th- Flower Gifts
Bring in a bouquet to support our staff! Flowers and bouquet fillers are needed as donations from all our parents! Flower collection will take place the morning of Tuesday, May 8th at drop off. All donated flowers will be arranged into small bouquets and delivered to each staff member.
The below signup link is for the resources to help collect flowers and create the flower arrangements out of the donations. We ask that all HPS families consider donating flowers.
We are also requesting a call out for any unused and unwanted vases that people would like to donate for staff appreciation week. They can be dropped off to the office between now and Tuesday May 2nd by 8:15am.
Wednesday, May 9th- Staff Luncheon
A PTO-sponsored catered lunch will be presented to all staff members. On this day, we will need a couple volunteers to help setup before the lunch and cleanup after the lunch. Dessert donations are also being requested. Time slots are listed on the link below.

Field Day = Fun Day for HPS Students!!!! It is a day that every student looks forward to and you have the opportunity to be a part of it. To pull this event off, it requires a massive amount of volunteers. Trust us, we can't have too many and there's a job for everyone.
For those of you who have not participated in Field Day in the past, you have to see what you are missing. The kids spend their day outside playing games, eating pizza, dunking their principal, and so much more. So signup for a shift and get to see your student at their Hyde Park happiest!
If you are unable to volunteer to work a session, there will be additional opportunities to support the day. We will need donations of healthy snacks, ice, cups and plates and will need to borrow coolers, water coolers and tents. More information about these opportunities will be available in next week's PTO Blast!
If you have questions please contact Mike Brugh or Bob Welch.

RESCHEDULED
Hot Topic Discussion -
Coping with Test Anxiety
The new date is
May 1
@ 6:00 pm in the gym.
Does your child get worried about standardized testing?
Would you like to support your child through the testing process in April?
Our mental health partner agency, The Children’s Home of Cincinnati, will be providing an hour-long workshop for parents on the topic of test anxiety. The hour will be interactive, and participants will learn about the symptoms of test anxiety and how to empower yourself and your child to overcome this stress.
It will be led by Alison Savage, LPCC-S, who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents. She has been with The Children’s Home for over 7 years and is currently the Clinical and Professional Development Supervisor.
Please join us on May 1 from 6:00-7:00 in our school gym.

Lost and Found Spring Update
Has it been awhile since you last saw your child’s jacket? Have you been wondering where that book could have ended up? The HPS lost-and-found is once again bursting at the seams. We have hundreds of items waiting to be reunited with their owners. When you are visiting HPS for spring concerts, assemblies, volunteering, or any other time you are at the school, please check out the 4 tables set up near the school gym, all full of items. Or, for your convenience, browse through these pictures of the items online.
This link will bring you to an album of shirts, vests, and jackets:
This link will bring you to an album of everything else—gloves, hats, socks, sashes, books, water bottles, lunch boxes, a pair of pants, and so much more! Check it out for yourself:
Please note: all lunch boxes and water bottles pictured are on display in the school cafeteria, not on the tables by the gym.
