Volunteer Opportunities
Crayons to Computers Volunteers Needed on December 9 from 12-2pm!

We are seeking volunteers to help as a group for a fun two hours at Crayons to Computers to earn free shopping trips for our teachers.    Through the Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program, this non-profit has distributed more than $145 million worth of school supplies to needy schools in Cincinnati.  www.crayons2computers.org

It's an easy and fun way to help our teachers! In volunteering on December 9 from 12 - 2PM in the warehouse (stocking shelves, etc.), HPS teachers will then receive a certificate to be used in their supplies store!

General Information & Announcements
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU TOMORROW NIGHT! Stephen Smith - Social Media: Your Child’s Digital Tattoo

11/27 at 6:30 PM in the gymnasium
Staying ahead of the digital curve presents a continual challenge for both Hyde Park School and parents. This discussion centers on educating parents on how a child’s social media activity can impact their future endeavors. Stephen will provide information necessary to be an informed parent in an ever-changing digital world. His informative presentation gives parents the tools to better monitor their child’s online activity. With technology ever-changing, he keeps parents abreast of new apps and social media trends. His talk is easy to understand and gives parents more confidence in understanding what happens when their child goes online and clear steps on how to keep kids safe when they are online.
Lost and Found: Check the Inventory (in Person or Online)!

Is your child missing anything? The Hyde Park lost-and-found is bursting with coats, sweaters, lunch boxes, and all kinds of other lost items. Please be sure to check the lost-and-found regularly. Unclaimed items will be donated after one month. We currently have 4 tables worth of clothing (mostly sweaters, shirts, and jackets) displayed in the hallway outside of the art room.

All of these items will be donated in January, if they have not been claimed. A detailed inventory (pictures of every clothing item) can be found here:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/159843746@N05/albums

We will add the lunch boxes, water bottles, hats, gloves, and other miscellaneous items in the coming days, and will update the photos as we do.
Annual Giving Tree
As the holiday season approaches, we recognize that there are families in need at this time of year. The HPS office has set up their annual Giving Tree to help provide gifts to Hyde Park School families. If you would like to participate in this endeavor, please stop by the office and choose an ornament from the tree.   Wrapped gifts should be returned to the office by December 1st.

Winter Coat Drive

As the temperatures start to drop, and you find yourself digging through closets to find those winter jackets, please set aside any outgrown gently-used coats! We are in the process of organizing a winter coat drive to share the warmth with our HPS students. We will accept all donations of gently-used (or new) winter weather items. Ideally, we’d like to collect sizes ranging from 5T to XXL as we have a wide range of students spanning from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Drop boxes are located at the walker entrance, the entrance to the main office, and in the hallway outside of the cafeteria . Many thanks!
