Tonight: Harvesting Hope Benefit Concert with Bethany Shane at the Art Center of Burlington
What:  Bethany Shane's uncle, William "Bill" Shane, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2015. He went into remission after going through stem cell treatment before having a stroke, which cut his life short. Please join Bethany Shane as we raise money for the University of Chicago at Hyde Park in hopes that more leukemia patients will be in remission. $10 donation appreciated.   Our Gallery Lounge will be open with beer and wine available for purchase.

Burlington Civic Music Association Presents FANDANGO! at the Burlington Capitol Theater

Burlington Lunchtime Chamber Music Series Concert: Music for 1 Piano, 4 Hands 
What: Joel Brown and Heidi Riepe perform Brahms' Symphony No. 4 for 1 piano, 4 hands arranged by the composer for the January installment of the Burlington Lunchtime Chamber Music Series. The concert is free and open to the public.

2020 Arctic Challenge at Burlington Bent River
What: 5 team members willing to perform 5 tasks in the outdoors for a local charity. $50 fee per team will go to your designated charity. For every pint and/or mug sold to team members or fans during the event, Bent River will donate $1 to your designated charity - so invite others to cheer on your team! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize money. Good food and drinks during the event, with entertainment following. The number of teams will be limited, so sign up early! Challenges may include beer mug relay, keg roll race, snowball throw, snowball toss, polar bowling, tug of war, or similar challenges depending on the weather. The fifth challenge will be announced on the day of the event. If your team fails to show up, then your fee is forfeited and divided between the remaining charities.

Great River Medical Center Offers Diabetes Class in January
What:  Great River Medical Center's Diabetes Education Program offers a four-week group diabetes class every month.  The group diabetes class is for people who are newly diagnosed, making a change in treatment, or having complications or concerns. A physician referral for diabetes education is required. Most insurance companies cover the fee for the class series. A family member or friend is encouraged to attend at no additional cost.

Balance Class Begins January 14 at Great River Medical Center
What:  A nationally recognized program that helps people reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. Eight-week session.  $50 for Health Fitness members and $60 for others. It includes classes, educational materials and snacks. A minimum of 12 participants is required for this class.

Health Fitness Offers Arthritis Exercise Program
What: Walk With Ease, a n Arthritis Foundation exercise program.  $50 for Health Fitness members and $60 for other. Nonmembers have the option of using the gym through March 5 at a reduced rate. A minimum of 12 participants is required for this class.  People with arthritis who can be on their feet for 10 minutes without increased pain can have success with this program.
