Greetings!
As a new school year begins, children and student ministries are kicking off with some exciting new opportunities for kids, teens, and parents to get connected. See below for upcoming news and events!
Last Sunday, we welcomed our new 6th graders into the Upper Room Student Ministry and children ages 3 through 5th grade moved up to their next grade in Kids Worship. We were excited to have over 60 kids participate at 9:30 a.m. Kids Worship! We also began our new program for 3 & 4 year olds at the 11 a.m. Kids Worship hour. This new preschool group meets in the Children's Area and will enjoy worship songs, Bible lessons, and fun activities specially tailored just for them.
This Sunday, August 19 at 5:30 p.m., Upper Room Student Ministry will kickoff our Sunday Night programming with a Back-to-School Bash. Jr. High and High School students are invited to a party they won't want to miss! There's a good chance they'll get wet, so be sure your teen dresses appropriately!
On Sunday, August 26 we are hosting Open Houses for parents of kids and students. At these events, parents will be able to meet their child's small group leaders, and learn information about their child's phase of life. Parents will find this information helpful for inspiring faith in their children during their unique phases of life and navigating the developmental changes their children will face this year. Small Group Leaders are one of the most consistent voices in a kid's life in regard to his/her faith formation. When parents and volunteers speak with one voice, we can do more together to influence the next generation!
Parents of younger kids (preschool-elementary) are invited to attend either the 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Open House in the Children's Area, depending on the hour their child attends. The Open House for parents of students (6th-12th grades) will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Upper Room.
