The MyJCC page is where you access your student email, Blackboard, Banner, DegreeWorks, event calendars and more. This is how JCC communicates with you, so check your email often. Find the answers to frequently asked questions on our website.
Access your courses online

Blackboard is JCC's learning management system.  Some instructors may use it to distribute course materials and communicate with you. To see your courses, go to MyJCC and click on Courses. Courses are made available seven days prior to the course start date.

Student Bills
Jamestown Community College will not be mailing paper billing statements to students.  In efforts for JCC to support a paperless, greener environment we will be eliminating the mailing of paper bills.  Student bills can be viewed at online The JCC Business Office only accepts cash and check payments.      
Student Housing
The Office of Residence Life is committed to providing quality on-campus living for 340 residents. We are still accepting applications for the 2018.19  academic year. Our suites, most with single bedrooms, will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis according to the submission date of the housing application and the $200 security deposit.

Accessibility Services
Jamestown Community College is dedicated to providing quality education to all students.  The college provides a variety of services to assist students with disabilities during their academic careers.  To arrange for assistance, contact the Accessibility Services Office located in The Learning Center, 2nd floor Hultquist, or call 716.338.1251.
Parking Permits
JCC students living in Residence Life are required to register their vehicle with the Residence Life staff. A parking permit will be issued for resident students only. Commuter students are not required to have a parking permit.
JCC 
Total Fitness

Located in the PHED Complex on the Jamestown Campus, JCC Total Fitness offers a full-size gym, jogging track, swimming pool,diving well, and Life Fitness and free weight equipment. Students cam access the facility with their student ID card.

Student ID Cards

Student ID cards can be obtained in the FSA office suite near the bookstore.

 

Student must present picture ID and class schedule/student bill showing their student J# to receive ID.

 

Student ID cards provide access to many programs and services (i.e. library, Physical Education Complex).

 

DO NOT DEFACE YOUR STUDENT ID.  DO NOT HOLE PUNCH, CUT, OR BEND IT.  Replacement cards will cost $20 if lost during the academic year.

 

Returning students should have their existing ID cards validated in the Campus Store.

Deans' List
Full-time students who have earned a GPA of 3.5 or better in 12 or more credit hours completed during the preceding semester will be acknowledged on the Deans' List.

The Part-time Student Deans' List recognizes all part-time students who have earned a GPA of 3.5 or better in 6-11 credit hours completed during the preceding semester, excluding Imputed and CR grades. 
Classes begin August 27!
All changes to your class schedule need to be made PRIOR to the second class meeting, and cleared by your advisor.

What to expect at orientation:
  • Meet JCC Staff, Faculty, Peer Mentors, Student Senators, & fellow new students
  • Learn about the many JCC academic support resources and student services 
  • Get a head start on finding your classrooms
  • Get introduced to how to use & navigate JCC technology (email, Blackboard, Banner, etc.)
  • Parents are encouraged to register for Parent Orientation, Tuesday, August 23.

Financial  Responsibility 
Agreement

Registering for classes creates a financial obligation with the college. If you are registered on or prior to August 1 3 , 201 8 you must complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement by Friday, August 1 7t h, or you will lose your Fall 2018 class registration. The Financial Responsibility Agreement must be completed every semester, even if your bill is completely covered by financial aid. For more information, click here.

Immunization Requirements

There are two NY State public health laws affecting college students enrolled in 6 or more credits. The first requires students to demonstrate proof of immunity against measles, mumps, and rubella.  The second requires the college to provide students with information about meningococcal meningitis and also requires the student to acknowledge receipt of this information and indicate his/her choice regarding vaccination. (Meningitis vaccination is not mandatory, although the response form is mandatory).

Failure to comply will result in a $25 fine and administrative withdrawal from the college.
Smoking Regulations

 

JCC will prohibit smoking and use of chewing tobacco and other tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) on all campus-owned grounds, including parking lots, and residence halls.

 

"Tobacco" is defined as all tobacco and tobacco-derived products intended for human consumption, including, but not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, hookah smoked products, clove cigarettes, black & mild, bidis, kreteks, electronic cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and snus.

Certificate of Residence

All students residing in New York State are required to provide a valid Certificate of Residence each academic year in order to qualify for the in-state tuition rate. The Certificate of Residence application may be submitted to the business office no earlier than 60 days prior to the start of the semester, and no later than 30 days after the semester begins. Tuition for students who do not provide a valid Certificate of Residence will be calculated at the out-of-state rate. Buying Books:
  • To order textbooks online, go to  campusstore.sunyjcc.edu . Click on TEXTBOOKS Menu; Select FALL SEMESTER BOOKLIST, Select TERM (Fall 1 8 ); Select DEPT & Course, Section, Instructor. Add SELECTION, Scroll down & Click on GET COURSE MATERIALS
  • For E-Book rentals , select E-Books in TEXTBOOKS menu for list of textbooks available through Red Shelf. This is a separate service that requires a credit/debit card to obtain e-book access.
  • Bring your class schedule on your mobile device (or a printed copy) to purchase textbooks to ensure that you are selecting the correct titles for your classes.
  • Accepted methods of payment: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express, charges to third party agencies such as Chautauqua Works, VESID, VA, etc. (submit proper paperwork); credit to pending financial aid refunds; cash or check.
  • Students using Financial Aid for textbook purchases cannot complete online purchases until Aug. 20th. 
  • Book buyback takes place October through May. Check with the Campus Store(s) for specific dates and times.

Dining Services and Vending

The Jayhawk Cafe is located in the Hamilton Collegiate Center on the Jamestown Campus, and offers daily meal specials, sandwiches, soups, salads, grilled items, specialty beverages, as well as meal plans for both resident and commuter students.  

Commuter meal plans are available with flexible spending in amounts from $105 - $405 and must be used within the semester. Residence hall students are provided with a 5 meal/week plan as part of their housing contract. Upgrades to 10 meals/week and 15 meals/week are available for purchase at the Campus Store.

The Cyber Cafe is adjacent to the Jayhawk Cafe on the Jamestown Campus and provides Internet access to students in a cafe environment.  

Jayhawk Cafe hours are Monday- Thursday, 7:30 a.m.- 7 p.m
; Friday from 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m , and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (starting 9/1)

Vending machines are located in each building on the Jamestown Campus as well as both buildings at the North County Center.

Peer-2-Peer

Are you a first-year student?  Do you need extra support and guidance at JCC?  Then sign up for our Peer-2-Peer program and get the help you need. The Peer-2-Peer program matches you with a student mentor who can help you navigate Banner, Blackboard, college Gmail, and other pesky computer applications.  In addition, your mentor can connect you to people and activities on campus and encourage you to make wise choices that will help you achieve your academic and career goals.
