Day 19: Ending Racism & Oppression Is At The Heart Of The Anti-Violence Movement
Today's learning will be done through a three-part video series that can be used in conjunction with each other or in standalone discovery. Ending racism and oppression is crucial and necessary not only in anti-violence work but across all communities and organizations. In these videos, you will hear from advocates and organizers who discuss their own experiences, perceptions, and journeys of practicing anti-racism as a means of ending gender-based and intimate violence. If you have time to watch all three, we invite you to do so!

Today's Get Local Challenge charts the YWCA Glendale's work to advance racial justice. Through a power point, we walk you through the rich history of YWCA USA's racial justice advocacy work and how eliminating racism became central to all YWCA chapters' mission statement. We offer information on how our local chapter is institutionalizing racial justice as one of its core program pillars, alongside domestic violence and girls' empowerment, and how we are engaging our board, staff, partners and community in this work.
