UPCOMING
Stewardship Campaign Ingathering November 3.
November 3 - Pizza and Games
November - Our annual focus on Shepherd's Table
- Shepherd's Table has been connected to Good Shepherd for decades. Volunteers serve dinner there the first Friday of each month. 20% of our Globe offerings are given to Shepherd's Table. November brings a special opportunity to those of us who create and those of us who shop. November is our month to focus on two types of items needed by those who access the multiple services offered by Shepherd's Table. First is the need for new hats, scarves, heavy gloves, and socks, all for keeping the body warm in cold weather. Second is the need for new underwear for both men and women. Shepherd's Table offers shower facilities, after which clean underwear does much to raise the spirits. Needlers and other creators, time to get your needles moving! Shoppers, stores whose names begin with "W" and "T" and "K" are great places to start. Creators, feel free to connect with Marca Woodhams for ideas. Shoppers, feel free to connect with Lynn Wood if you need assistance. Volunteers to serve dinner, connect with Debbie Beebe and make her day! Look for the special container at the back of church beginning on Sunday, November 3.
Saint Luke Food Pantry - Wi
th the cooler weather on our doorstep, let's focus on warm and hearty staples. Rice and black/red/garbanzo beans (canned or dry); pasta and sauce or prepared pasta meals; chili; instant oatmeal (or other nutritious cereals to start the day); hearty soups; canned chicken and tuna for protein; canned veggies that you would enjoy. Of course, peanut butter and jelly in tubes never go out of style for easy and nutritious (PB) preparation. Keep your eyes on the store ads to enhance your shopping experience. Invite your children to shop with you and chat with them about what a food pantry is and why we support it.
Hurricane Dorian Relief and other Relief Efforts of ERD - You are encouraged to check the Episcopal Relief and Development website to learn how our denomination's outreach arm is supporting victims of Hurricane Dorian and other relief efforts of ERD. A contribution to this effort may be made directly online through the website or by mail.
